Optimization guide for UNLOVED (more FPS)
By SUSPENDED
For some time now I have been obsessed with optimizing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I play or use, seeing that this game for no real reason was simply going badly for me, I couldn't help but see if I could optimize it, being right and after a short test I make this guide.

In-game Settings
Nothing really relevant to say here, they are the lowest settings and therefore the ones you should use if you want the default game run well.

  • FOV and Gamma may vary
  • The lower the resolution and resolution scale better but you can really use whatever you want, especially with resolution scale because if you lower it too much your eyes will hurt.
off-game settings
Here comes my favorite part :)

first of all go to C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\Unloved\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and open Engine.ini

The notepad must be blank, if it has any other text delete it as it will not be useful to us, once deleted copy and paste the configuration:

Once all this is done the game should go without any problem, if it continues to go wrong THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO... unless I know so far. Continuing with the topic, the guide and the reason why I can do this in the first place is thanks to the creator of this ARK guide:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=903819045
Because UNLOVED uses the same graphics engine as ARK, the way to configure it is the same and therefore several ARK configurations you can simply put them in UNLOVED and the FPS will continue to increase. (not all because that game has different plugins)

Does this mean you can put more ARK guide settings on UNLOVED so you can keep increasing the FPS? Yes, but that would require extra testing that I'm not willing to do since the game is already going well enough for me that I don't need to optimize it further.

End
I hope the guide is helpful to whoever finds it, also sorry for how probably poorly made this guide is, this is my first optimization guide and English is not my main language, I hope you understand.

Waited years for a guide like this.

I think you helped me stop crashing, 3 successful games and no unreal crash. Even played with fov all the way up. That notepad copy is magic, awesome guide. I just hope it keeps working, you're a life saver.

I just discovered this guide. This stuff is NECESSARY information right now. I have just found a way to help the poor performance and that's by simply not using Shadows or Post Processing on anything higher than Low - then and most importantly - LIMITING the frames. Rendering 300+ in the main menu can cause VRAM crashes almost instantly and is *not* recommended. Avoid VSync and '60 FPS Limiter' as VSync introduces highly problematic input lag and the other isn't working propely (it clamps to 30 FPS for me over testing it several times). Use Nvidias software to cap the applications frames to 60 OR use Rivatuner to do this, then run the game preferably in windowed mode with a reasonable resolution. Sorry for the wall, I'm very tired as I write this.
