Overview
This is a very easy technique that you can perform with enough practice.
I call it the Yoinky-Sploinky because you yoink and then you sploink.
Gifs/images will also be provided to showcase how to do this.
Step 2
From now on, these steps will be performed very quickly. Focus is advised for when you first learn how to do this.
Throw it into the air.

Step 3
Now, jump and grapple the barrel. You should be pulled towards your barrel, and it should be pulled behind you.
Then, turn around and grapple it again.

Yay! Now you can go to space with your best friend: a barrel.
This tech is actually really useful for the NEXUS CLIMBER achievement, at least for when you don't want to do some parts and there just so happens to be a barrel/chair next to you.

Do note that you should not object boost/jump/whatever off of the object when doing the Yoinky-Sploinky, as it will cause the thing to go straight down, leaving you without anything to continue the chain.

only real issue with what you said is that it's hard to get horizontal distance

for faster height [while sacrificing time and redoability] throw the object straight up jump, grapple, kick then grapple again if you dont have enough height redo the kick and grapple part
