Quality of life, non-script & client-side addon. Works fine with '-lv' and/or 'low' gore settings.
Hit marker appears with blood when you (or somebody) hit the infected (or survivor).
Conflict with other addons that replaces "particles/blood_fx.pcf".
The (famous) hitmarker texture replaces "vgui/panel_health.vtf" (de facto unused in-game).

bring back the mlg era


You are allowed to modify this addon and publish it, but with one condition: you need refer the original author (aka me).
Oh, and I recommend to send link to your modded addon in comment sections of original addon - because I rarely checking L4D2's Steam Workshop.

Hi! First of all, thanks for this great addon. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a different hitmarker specifically for headshots, so they can be visually distinguished from regular hits. It would make the feedback even clearer and more satisfying. :ridden_thumbsup:

This addon JUST REPLACES BLOOD FX PARTICLE. It appears when you (or somebody) hit the infected (or survivor).
There is other hitmarkers exists on Steam Workshop, but in 99% cases thery are server-side and works only on your local server, not on other server (such as Valve's official dedicated server or community custom servers).

Update:
- Unified "operator" and "initializer" for all particles with hitmarkers to optimize
- Some edits to set hitmarker on fixed position
- Reduced hitmarker size for shotgun hits
- Added hitmarker to "cheap" version of "blood_impact_tank_01"
