Retextures, recolors, converts to .dds, and up-scales the wreck textures from Vehicle Wrecks Expanded by explorer.n11 (an add-on for the mod Vanilla Vehicles Expanded) to fit the vanilla and VVE aesthetic. The original mod made is still required since this doesn't implement any code.



Why was this mod made?
The original version of vanilla made by explorer.n11 was too saturated and colorful which didn't fit the vanilla "ruined and dilapidated" ideology aesthetic in my opnion. So I got permission from the author to edit them and make this mod.


Does this mod require the original VWE?
Yes. This mod doesn't implement any code. Just textures.

The recolors all look so drab and the same!

remove the ones you don't like


I did not create the textures found in this mod, I only edited them by recoloring, touching up, and up-scaling them. Please support the original creator explorer.n11 by checking out his mods. I claim no rights to the contents of this mod meaning you are free to modify it and re-upload it as you please. Please just credit the original creator.

It definitely looks better than the original, but it still somehow stands out from Rimworld's vanilla style. Since you just changed the color palette of the original, it still remains somewhat more contrasting and does not match the style of, for example, the wrecks from VVE - Tier 3. This is not a criticism of your work, as I understand that it would have been impossible to do better without redrawing the textures from scratch, or at least a significant part of them. I just decided to point it out

I was about to do the update for you just now, but I completely brain blanked and forgot that this mod doesn't include any XML code and is just raw texture overwrites. You actually want to contact "explorer.n11" the creator of the original version. It's just a simple false > true change in the XML of each item you want to have a shadow which you could do yourself if he doesn't respond.

Is there a way to add shadows for wrecks? They look quite odd compared to vanilla ones without them

The bike has been updated. Should fix the offset, also made some texture minor probably unnoticeable texture improvements.
