"Okay, but what do the stats MEAN!?"

One newbies crap guide to what the stats mean to his understanding - because there isn't a guide for that YET.

The Stats
POWER - How much speed you gain from boosting.

WEIGHT - How long it takes to charge a boost. (you want this low)

SPEED - Your vehicles natural (see: not boosting) top speed.

ACCEL - Acceleration, how quickly you reach your natural top speed, additionally this appears to affect the max speed of your boost.

HANDL - Handling, how sharp and responsive your car turns.

Edit: Update 1 is in effect.

Edit 2: My old interpretations of Power and Weight are below, above are the official answers-
POWER - I think this is BOOST power and reflects how fast over speed you can go, and is suspected to contribute to how quickly you can charge a boost (I believe it's how shallow of a turn counts as a 'power slide' to gain boost)

WEIGHT - The one I'm least sure on, but 'feels' like F-Zero where it's more or less your "action multiplier" or the sluggishness for both intentional and unintentional moves. A light (low) weight vehicle will lose a lot of speed when it crashes or bumps but respond swiftly to your inputs. A high (heavy) weight vehicle can plow through other drivers blowing them off the road, hardly slows down when it scrapes a barrier, but as a tradeoff takes a lot of commitment and effort to get it to do anything. Additionally worth noting, this directly affects deceleration, so a high weight vehicle can keep their boosts for longer.
Thank you
Thank your for reading this crap guide, please do inform me on anything that is wrong or misunderstood and I will update it as quickly as possible. I just wanted to know what the stats did.

your shocks let your trade power and acceleration.

Updated, apologies this took so long, real life decided it wanted to get very busy very fast.

Directly from Colonel Sandwich himself: "generally the higher the weight the longer it takes for boost to fill up" "Power is how much speed is gained from a boost while lower weight cars gain boost quicker"

Oh, one last thing that I lost when having to rewrite this due to the character limit. The WEIGHT stat does not seem to affect speed penalties from collisions, at least not to my experience.

ACCEL- Acceleration. This stat is only particularly helpful at the very beginning of a race, and if you massively screw up. However, if you do screw up, it's better just to start over anyways. I would recommend always sacrificing this stat for the POWER stat, as that stat is far, far more useful in the race. You can just boost off a drift to get up to speed, and the benefit you get from your power stat far outweighs the detriment at the start of the race.

HANDL- Handling is important in this game, I consider it the second most important stat, however there is a downside to having too much. Too much handling can affect your ability to maintain a drift on wider turns, as it will cause you to turn into the inside of the curve too far. It's best to judge how much of this you need based on individual tracks, but I typically adjust it to be around the middle of the slider.

Are you still updating this? I have figured the stats out. If there’s no reply I’ll make my own.

POWER- This stat directly affects your top speed when boosting. It can be affected by a higher SPEED stat, but isn’t penalized by lower SPEED stats.

WEIGHT- This stat affects how your boost operates. A lower WEIGHT stat charges boost faster, but also loses the boost faster. A higher WEIGHT stat charges slower, but can maintain the boost far longer. For tracks with lots of turns, lower WEIGHT is better, while tracks with lots of straightaways are better for higher WEIGHT stats.

SPEED- Cruising speed. Like mentioned in the POWER stat, higher cruising speeds can improve your top boosting speed, but only if your driver's car is naturally fast and you pick the speed mod. However, at that point, you're likely sacrificing too much to other stats and will not perform well. The best use for this stat is in lightweight cars that need to go a little faster when there's nowhere to boost.

I played around with it some more and I'm starting to believe that acceleration is the stat that determines how much speed you can get from a single boost(of the same tier). I'm curious now as to whether or not weight plays a factor in how easy it is to get a tier of boost. I've generally been using stiff suspension with the logic "you really only need your acceleration once as long as you don't run into walls or cars" but using soft suspension on Pepe I was able to beat some of the times on my most played maps.

Did some tests with Pepe as a base, it feels like higher acceleration charges boost faster, while power certainly allows them a greater overcap speed. I'll test how Speed plays into top boost, I think power also manages boost duration.
