Number of XP Needed for the Armory Pass Credits
By 3SemiN8
The October 2, 2024 update introduced a pass called the Armory. This introduced a new mechanic to the game for obtaining (after activating a pass) new items—credits that can be exchanged for items you are interested in.

The thing is that the progress of getting credits depends on XP, so the purpose of this guide is to show you exactly how much you need to play in order to unlock the maximum number of credits (on each of the five possible active passes, whose progress is replenished at the same time). Each pass has a maximum of 40 credits, and the first one is awarded immediately upon activation.

A Few Words About What XP Is
Each Wednesday at 2:00 a.m. GMT (in accordance with the time zone utilized by the item servers) marks the commencement of a new week for the purpose of earning the normal weekly XP. The normal weekly XP begins with two weekly XP bonus boost multipliers: the first is x4, with an additional x2 multiplier applied immediately following the x4 multiplier. The x4 multiplier is applicable up to 4,666 XP (normal XP gained multiplied by 4), while the x2 multiplier is applicable up to 7,667 XP (normal XP gained multiplied by 2). Subsequently, the normal weekly experience points are accrued until 11,167 XP is attained in a week. Upon attaining the final normal weekly XP threshold of 11,167, the reduced multiplier begins to take effect, resulting in a 5.7-fold reduction of all received XP (received normal XP multiplied by 0.175). It is also pertinent to note that a New Player Boost is available from the first level of the Profile Rank, designated as "Recruit Rank 1," to "Private Rank 4," inclusive. However, that this benefit is only applicable upon the initial game start and is not renewable.

Based on all of the above, it is clear that the player will actually receive 6,167 XP, but together with the bonuses, that's 11,167 XP. Next, the XP is reduced. The cycle repeats every week from Wednesday to the following Wednesday. Given all this, we should ignore bonuses and reduced experience. For the purposes of the Armory Pass, they are irrelevant. What matters is the amount of XP you get without any multipliers. Each of the XP you receive will only be described at the end of the match if you have not left it (only in this case will you not be able to understand what you have received XP for).

Speaking of the latter, it is worth considering that in CS2 it is permissible to earn XP after exiting any match, with the exception of competitive ones. This stipulation is contingent upon the match in question ending successfully, even in the absence of the player who has exited the match, with a minimum of two human players present on the server. However, there is a discrepancy in the XP awarded, which means that a player who has left the match will receive 4 XP less for a weekly XP bonus boost with a x4 multiplier and 2 XP less for a weekly XP bonus boost with a x2 multiplier. In the event that two multipliers of the weekly XP bonus boost were simultaneously applicable, the player would receive 3 XP less.
How Much XP We Get in Each of the Available Game Modes
The following table shows the amount of normal weekly XP earned in each of the currently available modes. In Competitive/Premier, players can earn up to 480 normal XP per match (390 for a typical won match). In Wingman, the maximum XP per match is 135. It is important to note that for all casual modes (except for Casual, because currently there is no limit which is either a bug or intentionally done), the maximum amount of XP that can be earned in a single match is 250 (although nothing is known about the Arms Race, it is obvious that it will be very hard to get even 100 normal XP per match there). However, this is not the case for Deathmatch, which has a 200 XP limit.

Number of XP Needed for the Armory Pass Credits
If your current weekly XP is not reduced, you will need 300 XP for each credit, without taking into account bonuses or the reduced multiplier (as mentioned, bonuses and multipliers do not affect your credit progress, so they do not need to be taken into account).

This means that you need 11,700 XP.

Let us take a look at each of the modes, where I will share my knowledge on how long each mode takes for this amount of XP.

Competitive/Premier
For these modes, it is 390 won rounds or 30 won matches. You can not do this in a row because of the 50% win rate rule. It will take about 26 hours, and longer if you lose or draw.

Wingman
In this mode, that is 780 rounds or 87 matches won. It takes about 35 hours, but it can take longer.

Casual
It is a rather unpredictable mode, and it is tough to say for sure (except for the fact that the 250 XP limit was removed in August 2024), but if you are the top player on the teamand can score at least 60 score points in every match, you will need 49 matches, which will take between 16.3 and 23.5 hours. On the other hand, if you are not the top player on the team, this number could be much higher. To complete the Armory Pass in this mode, you will need to earn 2,925 score points.

Arms Race
This mode is also pretty unpredictable and the result depends directly on your skills. This mode is great for beginners, because even they can get consistently good results. If you are consistently the top player on your team, this will take about 21.3 hours out of 183 matches. If you are not, though, it will probably take 29.2 hours. To complete the Armory Pass in this mode, you will need to earn 11,700 score points.

Deathmatch
This is the best and most reliable mode for this task. If you are a skilled player who consistently gets 800 points per match, it will take you 73 matches, or 14.6 hours. If you are not not as experienced, it will take you 19.5 hours. To complete the Armory Pass in this mode, you will need to earn 58,500 score points.
About the Reduced XP
If you have the reduced XP multiplier in effect and do not have a record of how much XP you have earned, you can just calculate it yourself by multiplying the amount of XP you need (300 for each credit) by 0.175.

If you have reduced XP gain active, you will need to earn 2,010 reduced XP to complete the Armory Pass.

If you win a round in Competitive/Premier, you will get 5.25 reduced XP. If you win a round in Wingman, you will get 2.625 reduced XP. If you get a score point in Casual, you will get 0.7 reduced XP. If you get a score point in Arms Race, you will get 0.175 reduced XP. If you get a point in Deathmatch, you will get 0.035 reduced XP. However, it is important to note that only integers are counted (so, 1 or 2; 3.4, and so on cannot be counted).

I have a message that I can't earn XP anymore. I need to wait 7 days for XP count to be reset

What do you mean by "timeout"? As long as you're earning XP, you should be making progress in the Armory (the exception is XP earned from weekly missions).

Will you earn armory stars if you have no xp gain due to timeout?
