Ever running low on ammo? Been low on health but all you had was a bunch of useless bullets?

This guide will list the benefits and detriments of waiting to craft items rather than doing so
immediately with found resources, hopefully allowing you to develop your own resource management strategy based on your play-style.

Crafting Immediately

Pros

• Allows the player to be prepared and to react immediately to threats.
  
• Often faster, making repeated floor attempts more bearable.

Cons

• You might over-craft or under-craft a certain type of resource, not knowing what's ahead.
  
• Crafting immediately may leave the player open to being ambushed (This is far, far less likely if the player is familiar with the map.)

Crafting When Necessary

Pros

• Often more resource efficient than crafting immediately, particularly in inexperienced hands.

Cons

• A lack of immediately available healing items and ammo may leave the player unprepared for combat.
  
• Raw resources are often heavier than crafted items, making encumbrance common. This can be partially negated by using the elevator to store spare items.

Crafting immediately may be beneficial for experienced players, who are familiar enough with the mechanics to not accidentally waste resourced on unneeded items.

Waiting to craft negates the predictive aspects of resource management, but in turn makes combat harder.

I, personally, recommend a mixture of the 2: crafting essential items if none are found, but keeping spare resources unused for later, as this has some of the benefits of both strategies.
