(I'm still figuring this out as I play, I'll update this guide when I learn more)

This Guide Is Still Under Construction

Please be patient as I explore and experiment. I will update this guide as I play, this section will be deleted when done.
The Fan Wiki[horrorvale.fandom.com] has only the general overview of potions, so I made this guide to help fix that.

Bare Bone Basics
Maggie (the witch at the potion stall) both tells you this and gives you the textbook page for it. How do I know this? Shush.

So, let me explain brewing in a slightly different way since you didn't get it the first time.
(Dear Death, you really do need me for everything)

You have a Primary and a Secondary ingredient, the Primary determines what the potion's effect is while the Secondary determines how the potion affects.

Simple enough? Good.

Primaries
Here we have the Primaries, which necessitates what type of potion is being concocted.

From what I have observed so far, there are three basic Primers that everyone should know:
  • Ghost Pepper
  • Worm's Wort
  • Nightshade

- Ghost Peppers seem to have a restorative effect on the undead.
---- From healing ailments to reviving the entire party, this is one you should stock up on regardless.

- Worm's Wort is, as the kids say, a buffing Primary.
---- When brewed properly, it can boost attack, defense, and even resistances.

- Nightshade seems to be the opposite of Worm's Wort.
---- I recommend potions brewed with this to be thrown at others.
Secondaries
W.I.P.

Gonna be honest, not looking forward to writing this page.
There's a lot of info so this'll be future me's problem.
The Chart
Probably the entire reason you're here.
I wouldn't trust you near a cauldron by yourself if you don't know the hows and whys of the ingredients, but this does make a nice "cheat sheet".

Unique Ingredients and Potions
Some ingredients are too potent and will always have a singular effect no matter what is brewed with them. Some ingredients make a potion that is too powerful for everyday use. Those will go into this section

Shrinkshroom:
The Shrinkshroom is a Secondary ingredient that overtakes the Primary, always shrinking whoever consumes the potion. Commonly mixed with a Ghost Pepper.

SPECTRALODIUM D:
Made from mixing Purifying Salt with Crushed Root and brewing that with a mixture of Spirit Root and HOLY WATER. The only good thing about this potion is improper mixtures will result in a dud, which I'm sure every being is thankful for.
Yikes yikes and mega yikes, I'm blacklisting this entire potion. Only use this if there are NO other options in a fight, even then you probably shouldn't even consider it. This is by far the most dangerous and volatile thing I've ever encountered.

Giant Netherhorn:
Used to create the Legendary Clarity Potion. The only Legendary thing about this would how fast one goes insane from how compact with potent sugar this is. Seriously, an entire horn, from a Giant Nether? You'd need an absolute massive pumpkin spring to dilute this enough for consumption. So unless you have a pumpkin the size of a city, good luck.
This entire thing is unbelievably dumb, who even created this legend? Blacklisting as this shouldn't even be classified as an ingredient, just process this into regular Nether Sugar.

Best Regards

If you, for once, used your noggin and learned from this guide, good job. I can now safely assume you're not completely hopeless...

Yup, that's it...

Shoo.

Any plans on finishing this guide? I put together a list of potion effects from my playthrough, and I might make my own guide if you don't feel like finishing this one.

Tried to make this guide's tone sound close to the Tutorial Page's tone.
