This article compiles the appearance times and locations of all insects, including those added after purchasing the Sunset Island DLC.

This is for players who are looking to play a second round or more, making it easy to cross-reference the encyclopedia for any missing items and complete their collection.

For your first playthrough, I recommend that everyone wander around and explore freely to experience the purest joy of the game🌟（Unless you don’t plan to play a second round💦）

Using Ctrl + F to enter the insect number or name in the search box can help you find information quickly.

⚠️Tips：

Most of the insect locations in the guide aren't fixed; they are simply where I happened to catch them. Just like with fish, some common insects can be found in many places. If you're unable to catch anything at the same spot for a long time, try exploring other areas!

Near the boundaries of the mountains on the map, there are some small cliff platforms where you can find various high-altitude insects. It’s a good idea to explore these areas when you have some free time.

A few species of insects have specific appearance dates, meaning they may only show up in the later stages of the game or might disappear entirely. If you miss them, you'll have to wait until the next playthrough to find them again.

If you accidentally get spotted by an insect when you get close, you can run a little further away and then come back; this will cause the insect to respawn in the nearby area.

Insects like rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles need to be attracted by applying honey on trees in order to catch them🍯

🐜 For ants, you should check the ground in the town by flipping over the stone bricks to search for them.

I'm struggling finding the Glacial Apollo and Tortoise Shell Ladybug. Both are in Tengunoyama, but as Im playing, im realizing Tengunoyama is a WAY bigger area than just the mountain. Does anyone have more detailed descriptions of where they found those two bugs?

Although I don’t quite remember, But I checked other Japanese guides, and they show that the location in this picture is where it can be found. You’ll need to do some climbing, and there’s a small pond nearby. Hope this can help you.

Hello, using this guide, I've been able to find almost every insect in the game. However, I've been unable to locate No.140 Black-spotted Blue Longicorn. I see that the location is listed as Tengunoyama, however thats a pretty big area of the map so im not sure where to look exactly. Do you perhaps recall excatly where you found this insect? I have all of the other rare bugs, im just missing this one. Thank you.

Yeah, I see what you wrote in your other guide now. I'm currently working on the artist ending, but it looks like I'll have to do yet another playthrough to get the DLC ending. Ah well, at least I like the game. Good to know I don't have to perfect the report card.

Unfortunately, I haven't written. When I was writing another 100% guide, I only noted down some dialogue tips

Are you currently just missing the DLC ending? I remember I also missed a few doodle diaries when I was solely focusing on the DLC-related tasks, but I still managed to unlock the DLC ending in the end and I ended up completing only about 50% on the report card.
