Introduction
Welcome to my guide for fixing the crashing issues, this guide will detail how to install my Etherium Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Mod! This mod uses BepInEx to implement important bug fixes and quality of life improvements to Etherium which fix crashes and other issues. Follow the steps below to install both BepInEx and the mod correctly.
Step 1: Install BepInEx Pack
  1. Download the BepInEx Pack
  2. Extract the Files
    • Once downloaded, extract the contents of the BepInEx pack into the root directory of your Etherium install. This is the same location where the Etherium.exe file is located.
    • Typically, this directory can be found in:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Etherium
    • Your Etherium install folder should look like the image below:
  3. Start the Game
    • Start the game through Steam. If a new console window opens along with the game, you have successfully installed BepInEx!
Step 2: Install the Etherium Bug Fix And Quality Of Life Mod
  1. Verify BepInEx Installation
    • Before proceeding, make sure BepInEx is installed properly by checking that the BepInEx console window opens when you launch Etherium.
  2. Download the Etherium Bug Fix And Quality of Life Mod
  3. Extract the Mod Files
    • Extract the contents of the zip file and locate the file named BugFixesAndQoL.dll.
  4. Move the Mod File
    • Navigate to the following directory inside your Etherium folder:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Etherium\BepInEx\plugins
    • Place the BugFixesAndQoL.dll file into the plugins folder.
Step 3: Configure Launch Options
  1. Open Steam Properties
    • Right-click on Etherium in your Steam Library and select Properties.
  2. Set Launch Options
    • In the General tab, find the field labeled Launch Options.
    • Type in the following command:
      -force-d3d9
    • Close the Properties menu.
Step 4: Verify Mod Installation
  1. Launch the Game
    • Start Etherium via Steam.
  2. Check the Console
    • If everything is set up correctly, you should see the following message in the console window:
[Info :Bug Fixes And QoL] Plugin BugFixesAndQoL is loaded!
  3. Enjoy the Mod!
    • If you see this message, congratulations! You have successfully installed the Etherium Bug Fixes And Quality of Life Mod. Now you can enjoy Etherium with improved bug fixes and quality of life enhancements.
Step 5: Configuring Video Settings
Now that you have verified that the mod is properly installed we need to configure some video settings, first we need to disable Anti-Aliasing entirely, this is because it causes a Direct X 9 crash which i unfortunately cannot fix with my mod as its a problem with the unity engine (the game engine Etherium uses), and second make sure that your screen resolution is set to the native resolution of your monitor as sometimes Etherium will automatically set the wrong screen resolution which can also cause crashing issues, your video settings should look something like the image below once you have completed these steps:
Troubleshooting
  • No Console Window?
    • Double-check that you placed the BepInEx files in the root Etherium directory.
  • Mod Not Loading?
    • Make sure that the BugFixesAndQoL.dll file is placed in the correct folder: BepInEx\plugins.
Feel free to leave a comment or ask for support if you run into any issues!
Reporting Bugs and Crashes
If you need to report a bug or crashing issue its highly recommended to post the bug report on the mods Github issues page[github.com] as its easier for me to follow up and give support there.
Multiplayer
As some of you have probably noticed, Etherium's multiplayer doesnt currently work, this is because unity shutdown one of their old networking servers that Etherium relies on (The Nat Facilitator), however I have found and archived a build of the networking server that got shut down, meaning that you can host your own servers, version 1.4.0 and above make it possible to tell Etherium to connect to different servers allowing you to change which Nat Facilitator server your using, I have made another guide which details how you can setup and host your own Nat Facilitator's here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3476224263 Now i'll admit this isnt the best solution as i would prefer to host my own public Nat Facilitator server but i currently dont have the money or means to host my own public server so this is the best solution i can offer.

I've been trying to write another guide on how to set up multiplayer with version 1.4.0 but steam wont let me, due to Error Code: 15 so yeah, its going to be a bit until i can actually make a guide that has instructions for setting up multiplayer

I accidentally deleted my previous comment, gonna write it up again in case someone has a similar problem:

"Just a quick fyi. If someone is experiencing black screen instead of a crash after the match is ended, replace 1.4.0 version of this mod (Etherium Bug Fix And Quality Of Life Mod), with 1.3.0. At least that's what worked for me. So far it works. Thanks for the fix btw."
