Beschreibung

ABOUT:

Corps Francais de Vichy is a fan-made Panzer Corps 2 DLC that will let you experience the history of the Second World War from 1940-1944 through the eyes of a French commander in the aftermath of the fall of France.

From the sandy dunes of North Africa to Indochina in East Asia and to the European Mainland, Corps Francais de Vichy aims to cover all major military engagements of the French State during the Second World War. Taking inspiration from the Axis Operations series, Corps Francais de Vichy offers a medium-sized campaign, consisting of 12-16 scenarios in total.

Commendation points, various events, and new original and historical characters alike will also make an appearance in the various military engagements that you will find yourself in.

Explore the inner workings of Vichy France during a time of peril and witness often overlooked historical events and military operations that had far-reaching consequences.

GAMEPLAY:

· A greater emphasis on the naval and air theaters of Panzer Corps 2, while also keeping the action-packed land battles in the spotlight.

· A campaign that gets progressively more difficult the deeper you go.

· New purchasable units for Vichy France, as well as lots of previously unused and new units on the battlefield.

· Unique historical events and dynamic environments that require a unique approach.

· Original and historical characters alike.

· Tons of new heroes, scenario events, and unexpected twists in the midst of combat.

· A new storyline that spans across the whole campaign.

16 SCENARIO LIST:

· Attack on Mers-el-Kebir
· Retreat from Indochina
· Gulf of Tonkin
· Saigon
· Central African Campaign
· Sahara War

My thanks to the creator of this mod (VLD) for taking feedback into account.
I had fun with the second scenario, less so with the first one (Mers-el-Kebir). Naval combat is not the stong point of PzC2.
It is too bad that there isn't an opportunity to use your core force in MeK. Maybe if there was a limited British landing? It wouldn't be historical, but then neither is Darlan's presence in MeK (Gensoul was the admiral).
Jfsial2a's suggestion of integrating the Franco-Thai conflict is very interesting. The difficulty would be in creating Thai units, I suppose, but if it could be done it would be a neat addition, very much in the spirit of your mod.
Thank you for your continued dedication

You should have included an additional scenario in Indochina covering the Franco-Thai conflict, involving land, naval and air units.
There were indeed a large naval battle (won by the Vichy State) and several air/land skirmishes along the border between Thailand and Cambodia.
This conflict lasted between Oct 1940 and May 1941. Peace was finally imposed by Japan and Thailand earned some provinces in Western Cambodia (recovered by France after WW2).

I like the idea behind the mod and the mod itself. Well done.

But the Indochina scenario bugs me somewhat. Realism is not the same as playability and I find the scenario very restrictive. As a player I would like some influence on deployement and choice of units. Especially if the player has won Mers el Kebir, then it would be reasonable to expect some core units in the next battle. As it is I played, what, 5-6 rounds of Retreat from Indochina and just gave up. In its present form it is not really all that fun to play sadly.
