Description

Death of a Wish added a boss rush about a month after I first played in the "Apocrypha Update", where you can fight every main boss in the game from the Familiar Garden, and they're all scaled to lategame stats. This gave me some trouble on Challenge difficulty (Sin/Punishment) and took me about 12 hours to clear after I already had all achievements in the game. Bosses only seemed to take a reasonable amount of damage/time to die if I went full glass cannon, any kind of balanced or defensive build just didn't win the battle of attrition for me. Some bosses turn into complete pushovers, while others are incredibly dangerous as they have multihit attacks that can instantly end your run.

Since I have the Virtue equipped that keeps me from dying at 1 HP once per boss phase or healing item use, I only really used a healing item if I got knocked down to 1 and wasn't close to finishing a phase, otherwise I relied on the Bloodborne healing virtue and just re-upping my 1HP shield each phase. Mostly, this turned the run into trying not to mess up and fail to parry twice in a row, or get hit by any multihit attack that would immediately kill me past the 1HP protection. I could have gotten it much earlier, but kept choking runs on the final boss, which has a few multihit attacks that can one shot you through your protection.
