Killer: The Bracken
“I’ve found myself in a new place, far more strange than anything else I’ve encountered thus far. Strikingly modern, yet hollow and abandoned, with seemingly random and inconsequential debris scattered about. Yet do not be fooled, for this facility houses a menagerie of dangers I’ve never seen before; and a shadowed figure constantly watching me from around corners, waiting for its chance to strike."

Name: Bracken
Gender: Genderless
Realm: Experiementation
Power: Facility Stalker; Paranoia
Weapon: Black Claws
Speed: 110% | 4.4m/s
DLC: Lethal Company

Overview
The Bracken is a stealthy Killer, able to use its Powers to evade detection and stalk survivors from a distance, while simultaneously applying pressure map-wide.

Its personal Perks, Imperception, Don’t Look Behind You, and Predatory Instincts, allow it to hinder survivors and pressure objective completion.

Difficulty rating: Moderate

Background
In another time, another future far removed from our own, desperate people descend into abandoned facilities on derelict moons in service to an unnamed, unseen, and inhuman being. Death lays in wait in these liminal spaces, sudden and violent and bloody. It was the chaos and desperation that caught the entity’s attention. It saw so many delicious opportunities for death and slaughter. So spoiled for choice was the entity, that it chose to take each and every creature into its dark embrace.

The Bracken's Perks
These are Perks which start off only appearing in The Bracken’s Bloodweb. After achieving Level 30, Teachable versions of these Perks can be found:
  • Imperception - Level 30
  • Don’t Look Behind You - Level 35
  • Predatory Instincts - Level 40
Once obtained, other Killers will be able to find The Bracken's Perks in their respective Bloodwebs from that point onward.

Imperception
Traumatize and terrify your prey, and confuse those that haven’t seen you yet.
Upon starting a chase, your terror radius will detach from you and move rapidly toward the survivor furthest from you for 8/12/16 seconds. This grants you the Undetectable status effect for the same duration.
Imperception can be activated once every 60/45/30 seconds.
"It is a lone hunter with high intelligence." - Sigurd
Unique to the Bracken until Level 30, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other Killers.

Don’t Look Behind You
Knowledge of your presence causes your prey to become paranoid, always looking over their shoulder.
While outside of your terror radius, survivors repairing generators will suffer a 6/12/24% progression penalty unless they are looking directly at the generator.
Unique to the Bracken until Level 35, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other Killers.

Predatory Instincts
Your hunter’s intuition allows you to hone in on your prey with deadly efficiency.
You become obsessed with one survivor.
Once your Obsession is hooked, Predatory Instincts activates. All generators currently being repaired suffer a 10/20/30% efficiency penalty that persists until 20/30/45 seconds after the Obsession has been unhooked.
The Obsession’s sacrifice progresses moderately slower than normal.
Predatory Instincts is disabled after your obsession is killed.
Unique to the Bracken until Level 40, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other Killers.

The Bracken's Power: Facility Stalker & Paranoia
Load-out
Weapon: Black Claws
Blackened claws and powerful hands suited for crawling, climbing, and twisting necks.
When striking a survivor, the Bracken shakes the blood free from its claws and flexes its fingers.

Special Ability: Facility Stalker
An elusive and shy creature by nature, the Bracken prefers to stalk its prey from afar, in the cover of the shadows.
Press the Power button to enter a crouched, stealth mode. This reduces the Bracken’s movement speed and grants it the Undetectable status effect after 2 seconds.
During this mode, the Bracken intermittently gains hints to the locations of Survivors within 24 meters.
The Bracken can stalk survivors within line of sight to build up a secondary effect called Paranoia.
Survivors can disable this buildup by standing still and staring directly at the Bracken for at least 2 seconds, but doing so temporarily blurs their vision. The Bracken can avoid this by breaking line of sight.
If a Survivor stares at a stalking Bracken long enough to disable stalking mode, they momentarily enrage it. When enraged, the Bracken gains increased movement speed and dramatically reduced basic attack cooldowns for 15 seconds.

Secondary Ability:
Paranoia
Your very presence causes the deepest, most primal fear in your prey, and allows other beasts to sense their weakness.
Stalking survivors in Facility Stalker mode builds up Paranoia. As each generator is completed, Paranoia buildup becomes faster and more efficient. When the exit gates are opened, Paranoia permanently affects ALL living survivors.
  • Paranoia causes survivors to suffer from reduced action speeds, dramatically increased negative status effect times, and increased cooldowns on active perks.
  • Survivors performing an interaction(repairing a generator, searching a chest) and Survivors stalked from within 10 meters build up Paranoia 100% faster.
  • Fully stacking Paranoia on a Survivor will cause one of four Monsters to spawn. Monsters are selected randomly and each has a unique effect. The following monsters can spawn: The Snareflea, the Hygrodere, the Coilhead, and the Eyeless Dog.

    The Snareflea:
Upon spawning, the Snareflea will immediately run to the nearest objective and hide. When a Survivor comes within 3 meters of the hidden Snareflea, it will jump onto them, causing them to scream and reveal their location, and obscuring the Survivor’s vision for 8 seconds.
After those 8 seconds, the Snareflea will drop off and despawn, and the Survivor will lose one health state.
A Survivor can remove the Snareflea from another Survivor by completing a short interaction. If a Survivor spots a hidden Snareflea, they can cause it to drop off and despawn by shining a flashlight on it for 4 seconds.

    The Hygrodere:
The Hygrodere will spawn in a random place on the map and travel slowly to the nearest generator. It will then block the generator for a total of 25 seconds before despawning. Blocked generators suffer from rapid regression.
If a Survivor is within 3 meters, the Hygrodere will abandon the generator and slowly follow that Survivor until they move more than 24 meters away, at which point it will return to the closest objective.
The Hygrodere will also pick up items left on the ground or in open chests and carry them with it.
If a Survivor touches the Hygrodere for more than 1 second, they will lose one health state.

    The Coilhead:
The Coilhead will spawn near at least one Survivor, prioritizing groups of 2 or more. The Coilhead will rapidly approach the nearest Survivor, stopping only when stared at directly by a Survivor within 6 meters.
If a Survivor fails to see the Coilhead, they will be struck and lose one health state. If the Survivor is struck while performing an interaction, like repairing a generator, they will be placed immediately into the Dying State.
Survivors can defeat a Coilhead by standing still and staring directly at it for 5 seconds. The staring Survivor’s aura is revealed during this duration, and for 3 additional seconds afterwards.
The Coilhead will not target hooked or dying Survivors, or Survivors hiding inside lockers.

    The Eyeless Dog:
The strongest monster that can spawn, the Eyeless Dog will wander aimlessly around the map for a duration of 120 seconds. The Dog can sense noise within 24 meters and will investigate. If it hears a noise within 6 meters, the Eyeless Dog will roar and lunge in the direction of the offending sound. This lunge can damage generators, break walls and pallets, and will put struck Survivors into the Dying State.
Sounds that can trigger an Eyeless Dog lunge include, in order from most to least prioritized: Rushed actions, failed skillchecks, screaming, generator repairs, healing, running and walking sounds.
Once an Eyeless Dog has sensed a noise, it will remain active for 30 seconds before despawning, regardless of how long it has been active for.

A simple yellow sticky note with a message hastily written on it.

Survivor: Sigurd, the Crewmate
“I don’t know who this one is. They hardly ever speak, and when they do it is often incoherent mumblings about ‘collecting scrap’ for something called ‘the company’. I was able to eventually learn their name, but even saying it has little effect on them. It’s like watching someone operating in a fog. At least I can say with some degree of certainty that this ‘Sigurd’ is a survivor. They are determined and skillful, and they seem to have at least a cursory understanding of the hells this new locale has brought to us. Perhaps I will suffer in their company for a while longer."

Name: Sigurd
Gender: Male
Role: Defiant Survivor
Ethnicity: Unknown
Realm: Experimentation
DLC: Lethal Company

Overview
Sigurd is an efficient survivor, jaded to the horrors of the fog and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

His personal Perks, Great Asset, Scrap It, and Whatever It Takes, allow him to work efficiently through stressful situations and come out on top in the end of it all.

Difficulty rating: Intermediate

Background
Sigurd started off working for The Company, traveling to various exomoons across the Thistle Nebula and collecting scrap from the facilities left abandoned on them. Taking the advice of their brother Desmond, Sigurd began logging their experiences in the spaceship’s terminal. Soon it became apparent that collecting scrap for The Company was neither an easy nor a safe job, and the further Sigurd dug into the lore of the facilities and the experiences of his coworkers, the deeper the mysteries became. It seemed to him that there was something dark and sinister going on behind that wall on Gordion, but whatever it was never came to light for Sigurd. Now he runs in the fog, haunted by the memories of his career with The Company and the answers he will never get.

Sigurd’s Perks
These are Perks which start off only appearing in Sigurd’s Bloodweb. After achieving Level 30, Teachable versions of these Perks can be found:
  • Great Asset - Level 30
  • Scrap It - Level 35
  • Whatever It Takes - Level 40
Once obtained, other Survivors will be able to find Sigurd's Perks in their respective Bloodwebs from that point onward.

Great Asset
You’re a team player when it’s needed, but you’re also great at working independently.
Gain a token whenever you complete an objective by yourself or safely unhook a survivor, up to a maximum of 2/3/4. Consume all of these tokens at once to instantly progress any objective or interaction by 6/8/10% of its remaining progress.
”I will be a great asset to the company.”
Unique to Sigurd until Level 30, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other Survivors.

Scrap It
Once per trial, while holding a fully consumed item, search a chest. Whatever comes out of the chest is guaranteed to be higher quality than the item you are already holding.
Increases the time it takes to search a chest by 12/10/8%
"Time to sell."
Unique to Sigurd until Level 35, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other survivors.

Whatever It Takes
Through blood, sweat and experience, you know what is needed to get the job done.
While another Survivor is hooked, gain a 6/8/10% increase to your generator repair speeds.
If the Killer has an Obsession, gain an additional 2% increase to repair speeds while the Obsession is hooked.
Tremendously reduces your chance to become the killer’s Obsession at the start of the trial.
"Whatever it takes to meet the quota.”
Unique to Sigurd until Level 40, at which point its Teachable version can then be learned and taught to the other Survivors.
New Realm: Experimentation
Experimentation Realm
One of the first moons available to new Company employees, Experimentation is a bleak and dusty desert surrounded by chain link fences and the rusting husks of old factory buildings. To one side the Survivors may find the Facility, with its layers of catwalks, storage rooms and strange dark hallways. At the opposite end, they may encounter the Company ship, where a plethora of easter eggs wait inside.
The twisting insides, tall pipes and empty buildings provide a plethora of areas for evading the killer or stalking your prey from cover.

Thank you! I had loads of fun making this. The idea of adding more monsters actually came from the Knight and his minions. So I guess the Bracken takes inspo from Ghostface, Knight and Myers.

This is a super cool idea! The power gives me Ghostface vibes with a few tweaks, I like how the other Lethal Company monsters can spawn. Interesting perk ideas too, my favorite is probably "Don't Look Behind You" since it really digs in to the paranoid mindset when going against a stealth killer. Thanks for sharing this, it would be awesome if a Lethal Company chapter actually came out one day :)
