If you just woke up on the beach and scratched your ark implant, a default spear likely won't kill it, but the wound you deal will cause a slow enough to let you run it down.



Saving my arrows for deer, gorgons and bosses I want to BS to death, I refuse to shoot hares with a bow.. Hares have a low enough reaction time that with practice, you can sprint leap strike with a spear and hit them before they become alert and even fail several times flailing wildly with great success:



Hopefully this alleviates your frustrations and saves you arrows to bullsh*t bosses to death with. :D
