Small MAM (Make Anything Machine).
By pete
Small MAM that produces 4 belts of output. Supports all colors and handles paint mixing.
Requires: 2x1 platform, fluid trains, third floor, labels, wires. Pins optional.
Does not use global wires, so you can make as many copies of this as you like.

Intro
This is a simple, compact MAM designed to start producing shapes as quickly as possible, and not get stuck or delayed when changing shapes.

It creates four belts of output and supports all colors, with up to four layers per output shape.
Pins and crystals are not supported.

UPDATE: version with PINS available here:

https://gist.githubusercontent.com/peterellisjones/50b3d12bc4fa3dd1849a3db1f894118d/raw/fa89f8e3cfef47fd04ddb68aafb0c1f0a9d8e1f7/gistfile1.txt

The pins version has an additional input rail that needs to bring in one wagon of 'raw' pins on all floors (ie a shape that has four pins and nothing else)

Choosing a shape
Edit the signal in the top right corner to change what shape is produced. You can enable/disable the MAM with the ENABLE button (note default is ENABLED)

Setting up Inputs
The MAM expects two input rails, one for paint and one for base shapes.

As long as you have enough trains and input resources, you should be able to support at least 3 MAMs using the same rails.

Paint Rail

The paint train needs to have one wagon if you are using the 'with pins' version of the MAM, and two wagons if using the 'no pins version'. Each with the following paint:

Wagon 1:
1st floor: Red
2nd floor: Green
3rd floor: Blue

Wagon 2 (no pins version only):
1st floor: Red
2nd floor: Green
3rd floor: Blue

Base shapes rail

The base shapes train needs to have four wagons each with the following complete base shapes:

Wagon 1:
1st floor: Squares
2nd floor: Squares (optional)
3rd floor: Squares (optional)

Wagon 2:
1st floor: Circles
2nd floor: Circles (optional)
3rd floor: Circles (optional)

Wagon 3:
1st floor: Stars
2nd floor: Stars (optional)
3rd floor: Stars (optional)

Wagon 3:
1st floor: Fans/Windmills
2nd floor: Fans/Windmills (optional)
3rd floor: Fans/Windmills (optional)

If you have unlocked multiple trains, you can use the 'filler wagons' to create 4-wagon trains that only bring in one base shape, as shown in the screenshot.

Pins rail (required for pins version only)

If you are using the version that adds pins, you also need a one-wagon train that brings in 'raw pins' (ie a one-layer shape where each corner is just a pin)

Wagon 1:
1st floor: Raw pins
2nd floor: Raw pins (optional)
3rd floor: Raw pins (optional)

MAM Components
Shapes flow from top-to-bottom in the following images.

Input shape selector

The first platform multiplexes the input shapes from the four input train stations and selects the base shape in the current layer - one for each quarter, if a particular quarter-shape of that type is required in the layer.

Painting

The next three platforms apply the seven paint colors

Cutting into quarters

The next platform cuts the single input line into four quarter-shape lines.

Any incorrect quarter-shapes left over from a previously selected design are trashed

Merging into halves

The next platform merges quarter-shapes into half-shapes, if required

Any incorrect quarter-shapes left over from a previously selected design are trashed

Merging into a single layer

The next platform merges half-shapes into a single layer, if required

Any incorrect half-shapes left over from a previously selected design are trashed

Applying layer over other layers

The next platform merges on top of the lower layers in the shape, if required

Any incorrect layers left over from a previously selected design are trashed before merging

Final check and output

Finally, the completed shape is checked against the required design before sending to the output station.

I made a quick fix for the white mixing colour, not the prettiest but it works, dm me for the blueprimt (I dont know where to post it)

Color mixing produces blue instead of white

Must have broke again, it refuses to stack pins.

Can you re post that link - page not found, cheers.

I've made a quick fix for the white fluid mixing issue; this blueprint replaces the horizontal 1x2 just above the vertical 1x2 foundation on the right side (with the 24 fluid mixers), and also replaces the (3) 1x3 foundations immediately to the left and below. Just delete the original foundations and place this, and the MaM will resume, shouldn't be tripped up by any white shape segments: https://pastebin.com/Lt9PWaYj

I believe with the most recent update (0.0.9-RC6), the color mixing rules to create white fluid were changed, so this blueprint needs an update as well (blue fluid results in the place of white).

I’m finding it troublesome to get one shape into each different shape unloader sequentially in the updated pins version.

Can you post a zoomed out screenshot or more information on your train setups?

while there ever be an update for crystalization?
