Are you fighting a War and need locomotives to help out and defeat the enemy, well here you go. These engines like the coaches were made entirely in Blockbench, and those are not perfect but they're good enough.

Anyways, history time:

The 8k and the ROD 2-8-0:

The Great Central Railway (GCR) Class 8K were class 2-8-0 locomotives built in 191 and designed by John G. Robinson. These locomotives were a bigger and more powerful version of the earlier 8A 0-8-0. The locomotives were a success and could be seen hauling heavy goods on the GCR’s mainline for a long time…

And then WW1 happened. Surprisingly, the locomotives did well during the war and proved outstandingly reliable, so much so that Sir Sam Fay (General Manager of the Great Central Railway) ensured that it became the standard locomotive of the war. This resulted in the ROD 2-8-0, a almost identical copy of the 8k’s (albeit with minor differences, such as being fitted with Westinghouse Brakes, and having steel boiler tubes.) The ROD 2-8-0s were used a lot throughout the war by the Railway Operating Division, with some ending up overseas in the Middle East and Australia. Post war the class were loaned or bought by other Railways between 1919 and 1921, to help clear the backlog of freight traffic. The locomotives (both the 8k and the ROD 2-8-0) would later become part of the LNER and would be reclassified as LNER O4s. The O4 locos served widely throughout the LNER, many being modified to help extend their useful working life on heavy freight trains. Unfortunately a couple years after nationalization withdrawals began in December 1958 The last examples of the class were withdrawn from operations in the Doncaster area in April 1966 with most being scrapped. Only four survived into preservation, Three ROD 2-8-0s in Australia, and one 8k in Great Britain, where it is currently at the preserved Great Central Railway.

The GWR 3000 class:

Yeah, remember when I said some of the ROD 2-8-0s were loaned to other railways, yeah that's what that green one is. The GWR 3000 class were a class of ex- Railway Operating Division 2-8-0s bought by the Great Western Railway. They were heavily modified by the Great Western, with copper fireboxes, a brass safety valve bonnet, a top feed, and painted G.W. standard green. After these modifications they worked on the Great Western Railway for many years, and were eventually absorbed into nationalization. Unfortunately in 1958 withdrawals began, and unfortunately none survived into preservation.

So yeah, those were the GCR/ROD/GWR/LNER 8ks, nothing much to see here. Other than that these were a joy to work on, and I do plan on making more great Central Railway locomotives in the future. Also feel free To make liveries of you want.
