Realistic Mine Detector

Beskrivning
The mine detector in Arma 3, with its 15-meter radius interface, feels more like an arcadey mine radar rather than a realistic tool. While this might suit 2035 scenarios, it greatly reduces the threat of mines in a contemporary setting and simplifies EOD gameplay.

This mod lowers the mine detector’s range down to just 5 meters and completely disables the UI panel, requiring EOD specialists to rely solely on the audio cues from the mine detector while visually scanning the battlefield for active threats.

Inspired by the Disable Mine Detector Side Panel mod by Mighty.

might as well put an ACE dependency. that might be the only way this works at all lol. without the "pressure plate" from ace, this would do fuck all except get you killed.

@devildogg237 this works fine enough for my unit as a replacement (or addition) to the ACE metal detector. Give the other mod linked in the description a try, I think that might suit you better :)

that is beyond "needing to be careful" its "I need to have xray vison and forethought to even make use of this thing." its range is too low for basically all situations beyond the smallest of explosives, maybe, if you know its there already and crouched in time.

@devildogg237 well yeah, you'll have to walk slowly and carefully to detect them, just as you would in real life if you were lugging around a mine detector in a minefield.

tfw this literally makes EOD impossible because mines will detonate from beyond its range if you are standing, and at its max range if crouching. Honestly worthless as a mod because of that.

@HBAOplus it shouldn't as far as I know, since this only changes the interface for the player, would be pretty interesting if it did though :)
