Problem Summary
The game seems to crash on startup due to a network issue. (if anyone knows any further detail, feel free to comment below)

UPDATE:
Seems like the issue affects systems that are connected through WiFi, Ethernet connection seems to work as expected.

Other guides recommend disconnecting from the internet to play the game in offline mode, however, that tends to be cumbersome and not realistic for scenarios such as streaming.

Fortunately, Windows Defender Firewall allows you to set up a rule to block a specific program (in this case the game) from accessing the Internet. This does not affect any other applications, such as OBS.

As a mention, there is another solution available, where some individual managed to create a fix. However, this requires downloading unverified files to replace your game files with. While probably fine, some users might not want to go that route.

This solution should fix the initial game crashes without any 3rd party downloads. If the game uses Internet connectivity for any part of the game, those features won't work, however, for example Steam Achievements should work as intended.
Setup Firewall Rules
If you prefer a more visual guide to setting up the firewall rules, here are some options:

- Text guide with images:

- Video guide on YouTube from "TechHut":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pfMxwj51OU

- Instructions specifically for this game:
  1. select START, type wf.msc, and press ENTER
  2. in the left side-panel click "Inbound Rules"
  3. in the right side-panel select "New Rule"
  4. in the rule wizard select "Program" and hit next
  5. on the next page, select "This program path:" and hit browse. Then, select the game's executable (case.exe), then hit next
(tip) if you are unsure where the program is located, right click the game on Steam -> Manage -> Browse Local Files
  6. on the next page, select "Block the connection", then hit next
  7. on the next page, keep all checked (Domain, Private, Public), then hit next
  8. on the next page, give your rule a recognizable name (eg. "Case Animatronics No Internet"), then hit Finish
  9. in the left side-panel select "Outbound Rules" and follow the same steps of creating another New Rule
