Introduction
Hello guys, welcome to my guide on how to beat this challenging and frustrating achievement. I want to make this guide as this was the last achievement I required for the 100% and may be the same for yourself. This achievement highlights the issues with Red Dead Online so don't get too disheartened if you're struggling with this.

I hope this guide helps you and remember there is an element of luck with this achievement too. I will be showing you some strategies and tips to be at a good point and potentially increase your odds of winning and survivability.

The Achievement

Red Dead Online: Achieve MVP 3 times (in a round with at least 4 players).

This achievement can only be done in the online series games such as Takeover or Race

You need to achieve MVP 3 times on your online character, this can be done at any time as long as you accumulate them overtime.
Preparation
MVP is awarded to the player with the highest score in a match. Scores are usually determined by kills, objectives completed, assists and other relevant metrics depending on the game mode. For example to achieve a MVP in the Race Series, you have to win the race or if you play Shootout Series you have to get the most points.

In order to make the best and easiest progress, I'd heavily recommend doing the Race Series as this is by far the easiest MVP you can achieve!

Before going for this achievement make sure you are ready and prepared as there is no point trying to achieve this when you first start playing online! You should be at least between 40-50 I'd suggest but this is entirely up to you! The higher the level you are, the better access you have to certain purchases that will help you like Saddles! You want a good horse and saddle for races! I used the Mustang but it doesn't matter too much as the horse breed isn't what makes the horse efficient, it's actually the saddles, bonding level and other equipment you use on the horse, here is the best horses and equipment:

Top Breeds:

- Nakota
- Arabian
- Missouri Fox Trotter.

Top Equipment:

- Nacogdoches Saddle
- Hooded Stirrups

If you can't get these just try and either grind for them or buy the closest possible one but if you want to increase your odds get this combo!

Make sure you also stock up on Tonics and all other provisions for yourself and your horse as these will help keep the stamina of the horse up should you run out or deadeye for yourself when in combat with other players.

You want powerful and effective weapons for this as some races will allow you your own weapons for combat! I would recommend a revolver (dual preferably), a repeater, a rifle and a shotgun! It's really down to preference on the stats of which you want to use but I will say the best:

- Navy Revolvers (x2) ($275.00 each)
- Lancaster Repeater ($243.00)
- Bolt Action Rifle ($216.00)
- Pump Action Shotgun ($266.00)

All of these should help your odds a bit more then someone without these purchases!
Strategy for Races
When doing the races, there is a few things to strategize to help yourself out a bit with this achievement! When the race starts, make sure you start tapping the accelerate button when it starts and not before! You will get a speed boost (similar to GTA races) that will significantly help you take a few positions or get a good lead beginning the race.

One thing to consider is that you will have to learn these tracks so don't be too disheartened when you first jump into doing this achievement, give yourself some time to familiarise yourself and how to tackle each area of the tracks!

There is a few things you can do to overtake but remember there is elements of luck with who you play against and what they do and how you react to it! Try to get behind other riders when you want to get a bit of speed and go for the overtake, this is called Drafting and it allows you less wind resistance but also to conserve stamina! Try to take corners tight at every instance you can as tighter the corner taking, the more speed and time you can make up through the whole track! One last resort is trying to block others! This should be used in certain scenarios as you risk falling off your horse or hitting something that could slow you down. Try to focus on the race and this is used as a last resort if you can potentially make the other rider collide with a tree or something that can slow them down!

Keep an eye on how riders play in the race, usually the lower level inexperienced riders will just try and race whereas higher levels who are competitive will likely kill you with deadeye and play super aggressive to win so assess the race as you play and how each person you are in a lobby with is, so you can recognise this and act accordingly!

Another thing to do for the strategy is hang back a bit near the start as if you die you are setback quite a bit so be careful being first so early on or even a few positions up, this allows you to control yourself and assess the race and then try to make some distance and if you are confident then fight back! With the barrels that give you Stamina and weapons, I would recommend always getting the stamina refill which is the lightning bolt and either the revolver or repeater as these are the most effective weapons but try to pick up everything you can as you pass it as these can really help you out!

Types of Races
Currently there are four types of races which are standard races, target races, open target races and open races. You cannot currently choose which one you play as it's random so you need to practice and play them if you’re looking to win and achieve the MVP!

Standard Races:

These are just checkpoint based races! There are currently five standard races located in Bard’s Crossing, Fort Wallace, Pike’s Basin, Saint Denis Plantation and Saint Denis Streets.

Open Races:

These are just checkpoint races but in any order! There are currently five open races located in Blackwater, Rhodes, Saint Denis, Tumbleweed & Valentine!

Here are some links to each optimal path for the open races so you can hopefully follow these and will help you take the best possible route!

(Credit to Nic3r for these pictures, these helped me a lot so thank you!)

Try to look out for these two as these are by far easier to achieve MVP on!

Good luck!
Best of luck getting this achievement! This was the last achievement I needed to 100% and I did struggle quite a bit and needed a bit of research to help my odds! I thought I would share my experience with you guys if anyone is also struggling!

Patience and persistence soldiers!

Ah, i see you where right got a few good lobbies today and got the achievement pretty quickly.
Probably best to try in the weekends if you are going for this achievement..

@Hoduvic: Nope, most lobbies I searched for I found games quickly and filled with a good 4/5 players.

Some days/times do differ lobby sizes so you'd probably be best to try this on the weekend when more people are playing, but from my memory lobbies were always populated.

You may just be having a speck of bad luck with how many people are playing the game modes

Did you have any issues being able to find lobbies, for some reason i can barely find lobbies and if i do its just one or 2 players.
