Clank! Achievement Guide

Introduction
All achievements can be unlocked in a game against one or more bots in single player unless noted otherwise. I find that the easy bot tends to run in and out too fast and end the game too early to work towards certain achievements, so I recommend medium.

To my knowledge (after testing) achievements CANNOT be unlocked in "Pass and Play" mode with you playing as all characters. The game does not tell you this, unfortunately.

Remember the mantra for most of these achievements is: We don't care if we win! We only care if we complete the task.

If your only goal is to complete the achievements, you can resign games until you see key cards in the opening row.

The Treasure Hunter card can also help get through the adventure deck to find key cards faster.

There is a game mode where you start with 7 drafted cards and 3 stumbles. You can restart this game mode aggressively to start with some of the cards needed for the achievements and then try to get the remaining cards in the adventure row.

I made a simple checklist[docs.google.com]
Playing Games [5 Achievements]
Fledgling Thief
Complete the tutorials.

You must complete both tutorials.

Socialite
Play 10 online games.

You do not need to win the games.

First Score
Win a game.

This achievement (and the following) can be unlocked playing solo against bot(s) and while working towards other achievements.

Infamous Thief
Win 10 games.

See "First Score" notes.

Burgling Empire
Win 25 games.

See "First Score" notes.
Easy [4 Achievements]
Risk-Loving
Teleport across a locked path without a key.

This one is simple. Start a game with a teleport effect found early, then warp across a locked tunnel. Having a key will prevent this unlocking even if you don't "use" it.

Just A Scratch
Win after getting knocked out.

Play the game as you otherwise would, including escaping the depths. Just stop before you escape the dungeon entirely and keep playing each turn, wracking up points until you get knocked out. Hopefully you'll have enough to beat the other bots/players.

Cat's Grace
End the game with 5 or less Clank! in the bag.

Similar to "Just A Scratch", you can stop at the exit and wait until almost all of your clank has been drawn before leaving. Draft healing effects and try to trash/discard your clank effects as much as possible.

Well-Read
Acquire 6 or more Secret Tomes in a single game.

We don't care if we win. Just pile up on skill cards and buy as many tomes as you can before the game is over. The card "Underworld Dealing" can help with this as it can convert 7 gold into two tomes when you play it.

Medium [7 Achievements]
Close Call
Escape the dungeon while at 9 damage.

This one can be tough. The obvious trick is to wait near the exit until you're down to one life, or find a way to drop to one life just before exiting (via tunnel monsters). It can be hard if you get hit multiple times with one dragon attack but it should only take a couple games. This achievement may be bugged as I have done this three times and it remains incomplete for me.

Swagger In Your Stride
Generate 5 skill in a single turn with Swagger.

Aggressively draft Swagger and cards that generate clank, and do not trash Stumbles as you would normally. We don't care if we win! If you get two Swagger cards this gets a lot easier.

Going Straight
Trash all 6 of your Burgles in a single game.

The card we're looking to grab super early here is "Master Burglar" which of course lets us trash Burgles. Some luck, and maybe a couple other trash effects if they show up, and this one will be done.

Kitty Attack!
Use Mister Whiskers to knock out an opponent.

Obviously we need to look for a game where Mr. Whiskers is out early. Then draft lots of card draw. We need a little luck for our opponent to be lower life than us and/or with more clank in the bag. Wait until they're 1-2 life and draw through your deck as fast as possible to find and play Mr. Whiskers, then cross your fingers!

Light Fingers
Use the Wand of Wind to take a secret from a room an opponent is adjacent to.

This requires a little luck to get the wand. Once you find it, just follow the bot around until you get a chance to do this because (say it with me) we don't care if we win. This achievement may be bugged, as it did not unlock for me when I did it.

Status Symbol
Obtain all three Crowns in a single game.

This one isn't too bad, it just requires a little luck. Remember we don't care if we win, so we just want to focus on making as much money as possible while making our way to market. So cards that generate money directly, or mercenaries to fight monsters to gain money. Sometimes the bot can swipe a crown on you, and that sucks.

Legendary Haul
Steal 3 Artifacts in a single game.

Similar the "Status Symbol" achievement, we're going to want to prioritize money so we can grab two bags at the market ASAP. We don't care if we win, so grabbing the three easiest artifacts to reach is best. You want to do this with one bot, probably, as making a path to collect both bags and 3 artifacts with more than one bot is more difficult because of their unpredictability.
Hard [5 Achievements]
Better, Stronger, Faster!
Visit 6 unique rooms in a single turn.

This probably requires Dead Run or Flying Carpet to ignore crystal caves, and then a ton of movement cards. If you don't have the Flying Carpet you have to worry about the tunnel monsters a little bit, but remember we don't care if we win.

Monster Smash
Defeat 3 monsters (not Goblins!) in a turn.

I had a lot of trouble with this one because the bots are so aggressive about killing monsters. Sometimes they kill them even when they can't use the effect! Draft lots of attack (Mercenary cards and such), and don't kill ANY monsters until the turn when you kill ALL of them.

Royal Friends
Obtain a Crown, The Duke, The Mountain King, and The Queen Of Hearts in a single game.

This one's pretty rough. The only saving grace is that unlike the next two achievements, you don't need to ALSO play these cards in the same turn, you only need to acquire them. Draft skill aggressively, make sure you get enough for a crown, and cross your fingers.

All For One
Play 3 Rebels in a single turn.

This achievement and the next one are really frustrating and I think just a poor decision on the part of the developers. The luck involved here is obscene. The cards need to show up, you need to grab them (rather than another player), and then you have to draw them all in the same turn. I have no advice here other than be ready to play as long a game as you can to get a chance to see three pieces, and draft card draw aggressively so you can then play them in the same turn. You can resign games against a bot until you see 2 of them in the starting row.

Elf Cosplay
Play Elven Boots, Elven Cloak, and Elven Dagger all in the same turn.

Same as "All For One" above. Resign until you start with 1+ in the row, gear up for a long game and draft card draw so that if you somehow get all three pieces you can have a chance to draw them and play them all in one turn. Good luck, I really hate these two.

The closest I've come with Royal Friends is by running the last challenge. Quite often the Duke is one of the cards you can choose for your starter deck.

As mentioned already, Elf Cosplay can be done in the last challenge "Professionally Prepared", you usually start with one of the three cards, and can reset until you pick up the second one from the starting cards. Play and hope the third one shows up in time. For your starting hand, choose lots of rebels for card draw, and skip buying other cards that do not draw. But make sure you have enough buying power to pick up your second card turn 1. A treasure hunter or two helps your rebels draw, and heightens the chance of seeing your third needed card.

The All for One can easily be done in that same challenge, as you can draft your deck with lots of rebels as options.

I got the Elf Cosplay achievement by doing the Professionally Prepared challenge. You usually start with one required card. If you're lucky, you'll get the other two cards as you play.

"All for one" is easier in the "Rebel Squad" challenge game because there are extra copies of all the companions. But yeah elf cosplay and royal friends are killing me.
