Description
Have you ever thought that the Vanilla Empire Size punishes playing wide too much?
Is your grand space Empire doomed to be a technological backwater unless half your population is researching?

If you thought this, or anything similar this mod is for you.

This is a simple mod, It takes all contributing factors to empire size, and halves them.

Pops from .01 -> .005
Colonies from 10 -> 5
Systems from 1 -> 0.5

Etc

Any problems or update Requests, leave a comment.
Should be compatible with everything, unless it specifically changes the values relating to empire size.

Now updated to 4.0 with returned functionality

Turns out paradox just divided everything by 100, so i did the same :73:

Needs an update, when I start a game I immediately have an empire size penalty of 302%.

@Lasagna I mean it makes sense to me: people see red numbers, mind goes to "that's a problem", and want a solution that makes those red numbers go away. Yeah you have means of being able to ignore it, but that's not gonna help the people who don't like seeing red numbers.

The psychology of people being fearful of empire size is really interesting, people care more about avoiding the negative modifier (tiny penalty to tech/traditions) than they do increasing the positive (more pops giving you literally everything including tech/traditions). Wide has never been punished in Stellaris, more pops are always good, more planets are always good even if only as factories to make pops, only Virtual Empires don't go as wide as possible.
