Sims 3 Performance Mod Guide

Disable Sims 3 Launcher
Option 1
  1. Go to your Steam Library
    Right Click on Sims 3
    Select Properties
    Click on Installed Files
    Click Browse

  2. Navigate to
    SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

  3. Create a copy of Sims3Launcher.exe
    Create a copy of TS3.exe and rename it to Sims3Launcher.exe (replacing the original)
Option 2
  1. Go to your Steam Library
    Right Click on Sims 3
    Select Properties
    Click on General
    Set Launch Options to Play The Sims 3
    Under the Advanced section paste in
    "Game\Bin\TS3W" -%command%
Recommended Quick Changes
Disable In-game shop items
  1. Go to Options
  2. Go to General Settings
  3. Uncheck Enable Shop Mode

Disable Store-generated Files

In File Explorer navigate to the directory below
%userprofile%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
  1. Delete the folder FeaturedItems
  2. Create a text file named FeaturedItems.txt

Notable Cheats
Press CTRL+SHIFT+C while in-game to bring up the console

Download "FrameworkSetup.zip" from the link below

In "FrameworkSetup.zip", extract the Mods folder and place it into the directory below
%userprofile%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

You should now see the following inside
%userprofile%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods
  1. Overrides Folder
  2. Packages Folder
    • NoBuildSparkles.package
    • nointro.package
  3. Resource.cfg File
Menu/Loading Mods
  1. Ad-less Main Menu

  2. Remove Maxis Screen

  3. Change Loading Screen

  1. Smooth Patch 2.1

    • Helps the game run smoother and avoid crashing

      • Avoids data corruption & logs crash errors

    2. Overwatch
      • Fixes glitched Sims & disables unused assets that slows the game down

    3. Master Controller
      • Ability to edit Sim parameters, which are usually locked

Hey Kok thank you so much for this but I am still confused about the mods part. If not a problem can you make a video or a youtube video on this how to put mods on steam and fro them to work properly. Because I tried the way how i heard people do but it didn't work nor for me nor for others. if not a problem and when you have a time cna you please help out a simmer to a simmer thank you. With altering the Smooth Patch's FPS limit, it's recommended by LazyDuchess to actually set your FPS limit in your GPU control panel instead as well as it's actually better.

If you have a GPU like Nvidia for example you'll have it always in your actives bar - you just need to right click it and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" then under "Manage 3D Settings" change to "Program Settings" instead of Global; find the 'ts3w.exe' then scroll down til you find "Max Frame Rate" and then change that to 60 FPS.
