The concept of "Infiltrating" an Outpost is not exactly explained to you(From what I recall, anyways), but it is actually a simple concept that will potentially net you extra rewards from an extra loot pool.

The concept is you smash all the generators without being spotted, and then killing the boss when he appears.

As stated, infiltrating an outpost will give you a CHANCE to either get an Amorphous Material or a Shaper from a different loot pool in addition to loot from the Outpost specific loot pool.

*SOME AMORPHOUS MATERIALS will ONLY COME FROM CERTAIN OUTPOSTS WHILE COMPLETING IT WITH A SUCCESSFUL INFILTRATION!!!*







As you can see, the basic loot pool(The one where you just shoot stuff to death) is there, along with 2 items that can also be obtained from another loot pool. Infiltration success grants you a chance at "extra," and each outpost has a different one for infiltrating. (In this case, the Outpost shown has both Amorphous 28's. Usually the bonus infiltration's Amorphous will be different.

This can be done by ANY character, however it is extremely harder to do on anyone except Sharen.

The idea is simple - Break the generators without being caught.

This makes Sharen the perfect, and nearly the only character, that can do this easily with the right setup.

First, you will cloak outside the Outpost walls(The orange walls), and ensure you were not detected. You will then run in, and smash the generators. This can be done in 1 attempt if your Sharen's skill duration is high enough.

First, find the generators.








Afterwards, walk up to the character marker(Blue/Grey ghost image as seen above)

This will then prompt you to destroy the generator. Your character will then smash it, immediately breaking it. As Sharen, you can do all 3 or 4 generators at once if you have the mods for duration.








This will break the generator immediately, the same way it would be destroyed if you damaged it enough from skills and weapons.

After all generators are destroyed, the boss will spawn. At this point you can go guns a blazin' because you already broke the generators in stealth, which is all you need to have a successful infiltrate, and have a chance at the bonus loot.

Congrats! You just completed your first "Infiltrate an Outpost" and hopefully got some good extra loot!

Also remember, Infiltrating does not change the Outpost to only drop the infiltration rewards. The infiltration rewards are an ADDED drop to the original loot pool.

For example, this one has A28 in it for completing it, and another A28 for completing it through infiltration. Technically this run can yield TWO Amorphous Materials upon completion, rather than just one. However, this IS RNG based. Sometimes you will get neither, sometimes 1, sometimes both.
