How to get Wingcat wing cosmetics to work properly
By PoisonedMaple
Currently there is an issue with Wingcat where trying to use DMS to apply cosmetics to the wings will cause the wings to rapidly flicker between the default sprites and selected cosmetic. This guide offers a workaround to this issue.

The Guide
In order to not have the wing sprites flicker you must go into the Wingcat mod files and replace the default sprites with your desired cosmetic. (It's not as hard as it might sound, I promise.)

First, you get the .png file of whatever cosmetic you wish to use. If it's from the workshop, go into the cosmetic's mod files and copy the .png file.

The file path should be C drive > program files x86 > steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 312520

From there you search for the workshop ID, which you can get by clicking on the share button of a workshop item. The string of numbers at the end is the ID.

Then you go into the mod's "dressmyslugcat" folder, and find the desired cosmetic among the folders. The .png file should be named "wingcatwing".

Now go back and search Wingcat's workshop ID (Should be 3021911328), go into the "atlases" folder, and delete or rename the wingcatwing.png in there (DO NOT TOUCH THE TXT FILE). Then paste your own wingcat cosmetic in. Make sure that your cosmetic .png is named "wingcatwing" or else the game will not load!

Finally, open up the game and ensure that you have "default" selected in the DMS menu. Your cosmetic should now be working with no flickering whatsoever!
Important Things to Note
This workaround is not perfect. While it does solve the flickering issue, changing wing cosmetics is inconvenient and in multiplayer everyone is forced to use the same wing cosmetic.

If you plan on switching wing cosmetics often, I recommend pinning the Wingcat Atlases folder to quick access and putting all the .png files of the cosmetics you wish to use in there. Whichever .png is named "wingcatwing" is the one that will be used. Just ensure that only one .png is named "wingcatwing" at a time!

An alternate solution is to replace the default Wingcat wing sprites with an empty (completely transparent) .png file and selecting cosmetics through the DMS menu like normal. This reintroduces the flickering issue, but it looks better than if it were flickering between two different sprites, and allows different players to use different cosmetics.

I hope that one day the DMS issue will be fixed and this guide will be obsolete.

for a more simplified tutorial maybe i guess, rightclick on rainworld, go to manage, and browse local files, then at the top click the arrow next to steamapps and then workshop, go to 31520, and then the id of more wingcatb wings, when you get to the file with all the numbers, go to the one including the more wingcat wings, if you dont know which one it is and have a lot of mods installed you can go back to ther workshop page and look at the top left corner, go to the wingcat wings file and rightclick on the wing png you want, and click copy, then go to the wingcat rising file, delete the wingcat png or rename it, not the textfile, only png, then rightclick again and click paste to put the other wingcat wing into there replacing the original

if you use the moth sprite, the wings flickering is a bit cute cause irl moths vibrate their wings really fast :3

So basically you'd need to rewrite the png of the mod itself and not introduce the new skins and switch between them like you'd normally do with DMS?
