1. Sabotage
Unlocking Basic Sabotage Jobs

One of the most important things to do in AT2 is to sabotage your opponents. This way you will reduce the image of other airlines and passengers might then prefer yours. I will show you how to unlock sabotage and where to assign jobs.

First of all, often it has been asked where to find the 'Flower Shop' (i.e. the hidden office of Arnie). To find him you'll simply need to go to the very right of the passenger hall.

However, if you talk to him he'll let you know that you have no permission to be there. So what to do now? Again the solution is a violin case. In AT1 you could find it in the Duty Free shop. However, the Airline Tycoons seem to have abused it so frequently that the Airport Manager obviously confiscated it. Therefore you head for the office of the airport manager. On the very right hand side, you'll notice the violin case. Take it.

If you now head back to the Flower Shop (X) and click on the violin case in your inventory (on the buttom right, you'll notice three buttons, it is the very left one) and on Arnie, you'll unlock the sabotage jobs. However, so far you'll only have unlocked the basic jobs that have a rather low rate of success. So let me show you how to unlock the 'Leet'(sic!)-jobs.

____________________________________________________________________________

Unlocking 1337-Sabotage Jobs

If you go to the bank (K) you'll notice a rubbish bin. If you click on it, a bomb will be added to the inventory. Arnie will surely love it. However, there is more to click on. Directly above the rubbish bin, there is a camera that actually should have noticed someone placing the bomb in the bin. Click on the camera and it will be added to your inventory as well.

The bomb will unlock the sabotage job 'Delay an airplane by false bomb warning' (20,000,000).
The camera won't get you any additional jobs for sabotage, but for counter-sabotage. I will get to this in the counter-sabotage section.

____________________________________________________________________________

As you are already in the Flower Shop at that time, you might want to take a closer look at the gun in the shelf to the right of Arnie. Just take it and give it to him.

This will unlock the 'Leet'-bankhack (16,000,000). This will be especially important in the last mission as this is the best weapon to make your enemies bankrupt. Furthermore, you will unlock snakes on a plane in the 'special' sabotage list. However, it has the same costs and chances of success as the other ones of the category.

Et voilá! Now you have unlocked all sabotage jobs.
____________________________________________________________________________

Statistics of the Sabotage Jobs

Now to the reason why I call some jobs 'Leet'-jobs. This is simply, because that's the name the developers gave them in the game-files (AT2 Steam Folder --> init --> events).

There you can also find the chance of success for each sabotage attack. I will give you a short comparison between the basic sabotage jobs and the leet ones (mentioning required items in brackets):

Bankhack :

Class
Cost
Chances
Rookie
2,000,000
0.3
Experienced
4,000,000
0.4
Pro
8,000,000
0.5
1337 (Gun)
16,000,000
0.6

What do bankhacks do? They simply transfer money from the opponents bank account into yours. However, you won't get the full amount of the money stolen, but only half of it (the rest goes onto the hacker's account). If the hacker gets caught, you lost all the money. So you should definetly go for the 1337-bankhack.

Sabotage Flight Satisfaction

Class

0.4
Watertank
12,000,000
0.5
False Bomb (Bomb)
20,000,000
0.6

Unfortunately I am not able how much each of the delays and the jobs on flightsatisfaction influence the reputation of a flight or the airline.

As I have given you the path to the files you might try changing the odds in case to make the last mission much easier than it is right now. I used the 'Football Manager Method', saving the game after each successful bankhack.

2. Counter-Sabotage
Unlocking Better Counter-Sabotage Meassures

So far we have dealt with sabotage your opponents. However, they will attempt to do the same to you. Therefore, you will need good counter-meassures. Again, the developers seperated them into the basic three categories and a hidden 1337-one. I will show you how to unlock all the counter-meassures in order to secure your planes.

As mentioned in the chapter 'Sabotage' you can find a security camera at the bank. If you still have it in your inventory, this will unlock the IT-specialist to secure your bank account and the bio-scan for your airplanes.

Now that your money is safe, we try to achieve the same for your airplanes. In the Duty Free Shop (F) you'll find a mirror.

This will unlock two new counter-meassures. First of all, you can now hire elite-soldiers for your airplanes. Secondly, you are now able to hire an additional mechanic that will watch your tires, engines, movie theatres etc.

Those 1337-counter-meassures are quite expensive. You'll have to pay 5,000,000 once and 1,000,000 per day! You might think twice about that, but it is obvious that you shouldn't activate them before you make more than 15-20,000,000 a day.

Statistics of Counter-Meassures

Again, I will provide a handy overview of how the actions influence your airline.

According to the game files this is the counter meassure to avoid delays provocated through sabotace jobs by your opponent.

3. Marketing
Unlocking Better Marketing Campaigns

One of the most essential actions to harm your opponents is to reduce their image and hence their passenger supply. If you and your opponent are using the same route you might think about marketing campaigns so that passengers will prefer your airline. In the beginning you will have three basic types of marketing to kick your image for a flight. Furthermore, you'll have three options to reduce the image of your opponents flight. In order to make passengers swap the airline rather fast you will need a mixture of both campaigns. I will show you how to unlock better marketing campaigns in order to increase your own and decrease your opponents route-image.

Again, the item can be found in the Duty Free Shop (F). Tell that lady that you want to buy something and grap that mushroom-like little plant you can see at the bottom of the shelf.

Now go to the Marketing Office (I) and hand it over to the botox lady.

You have now unlocked the following marketing meassures:

  • - a 1337-spokesman, which will prevent you from false press (marketing against you)
  • - a 1337-marketing campaign for your flight
  • - a 1337-false press campaign against a flight of your opponent
______________________________________________________________________________

Statistics of Marketing Campaigns

Again, I'll provide you a short overview of the benefits of each actions in the marketing office.

As you see, the costs mentioned in these two tables seem to be quite low. However, I think that this is the price per (possible) passenger. So if you start a campaign for a route that offers 1,000 Passengers a day, you will need to multiply the cost by the passengers.

Example:
You want to start a campaign for a route that provides 500 passengers a day. You decide to take the 1337-Marketing campaign, which is the most effective, but also most expensive campaign. Therefore the calculation might be something like the following:

27,000 * 500 = 13,500,000

Note, that this is for one route only! If you fly returns and want it on an equal level you will need to start a campaign on that route as well.

For the exact calculation of the chances to prevent a false press by your opponent I am missing a formula in the game files. I might have a closer look on that later on.
4. Quick Guide
This chapter is for the unpatient people. I will explain as short as possible:

A. Unlock Sabotage:

  1. Go to the airport manager (U) get the violin case on the right.
  2. Go to the flower shop (X) on the very right end of the passenger hall (it's a manhole that moves up if you are near; look for the security guy near an airport direction sign).
  3. Give Arnie the violin case.

___________________________________________________________________________

B. Unlock Special Sabotage

  1. Go to the bank (K). Click on the rubbish bin on the left. This will add a bomb into your inventory

5. Closing
As this is the first guide I wrote, the formatting might not be the best. If you have any suggestions feel free to tell me. Also you'll probably have noticed that I am not a native English speaker. So if you find any grammatical or orthographical mistakes, just point them out as it helps me acquiring the language even better. ;)

Furthermore, if you think something should be added or more explicit, I will try to add information or explain certain issues in another way.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, the rating of <20% positive reviews ain't fair. It is true that the developers made big mistakes by leaving out an elaborate tutorial or working on the duration of the loading/saving screens. And the last mission is pain in the ***...Still it is a good game that should be around 40-50%...:LIS_poker_face:

Neat Guide. It's a shame people don't rate this game that much! For some weird reason I quite like it.
