FileManager.dll:

When you play Silent Hunter 5 for the first time, it will instantly create a folder named SH5 in the user's MyDocuments directory.
The file responsible for this is located in the Silent Hunter 5 installation folder and is named FileManager.dll.




Before handling this file, make a backup copy!
With a hexadecimal editor (or just a text editor), open this file and search for the word SH5. The only result will be displayed.
If you change any character in SH5 from A-Z and 0-9, for example:
SH8 SBS ABS 111 2DG .., and save the change, the next time you run the game, a new game save folder will be created with the edited name inside the FileManager.dll file.
From this idea we can create a mod that allows us to launch the game with multiple installations and versions, for example if a player has Sh5 Uplay installed in C:\Ubisoft and another version of Steam installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 5, and another version of EpicGame in C:\Program Files\Epic Games\silenthunter5BOTAGoldedition.

Create a folder named (for example) SH5_To_SUP_Uplay_Mod, then copy the FileManager.dll file to this folder. Edit it with a hexadecimal or text editor. Look for the word SH5 and change it to SUP. Make a compressed copy with 7z.
We save this created mod when we want to play the Uplay installation.
Create another folder named SH5_To_SST_Steam_Mod
and another named SH5_To_SEP_EpicG_Mod
In each folder, paste the FileManager.dll file. Edit it. In each folder, change the word SH5 to SST and SEP successively! Make compressed copies of both folders.
Copy each folder to the MOD folder of the mod manager: Generic Mod Enabler.
Very important note to add the MOD folder to any installation folder: go to JSGME.exe, right-click, and send a shortcut to the desktop three times (for this example). If we have the mod manager active in an installation folder, we only add the appropriate mod!
Rename the shortcuts created on the desktop with appropriate names, for example:
JSGME_Uplay
JSGME_Steam
JSGME_EpicG
Right-click on each shortcut, then select Properties in the Start label. Paste the address of the SH5.exe for each installation (full path). Click OK. With this method, you can play Silent Hunter 5 with multiple installations with your favorite mods. You can even play with multiple saved games with different names with just one installation!
