Winning the Gangwar: Preface tips
When starting out it can be hard to stay alive through 3 waves gang members all shooting at you at the same time. In this guide is a foolproof way to win the wars without dieing and loosing all your weapons and having to try again.

This almost goes without saying but if you are having a hard time staying alive ALWAYS come in with body armor. Either get the pickup right away when the war starts or shell out the $200 at ammunation. $200 is nothing just kill a crack dealer they drop ~$2k every time.

Additionally I always takeover territory that is right next to territory I already control. This makes it incredibly simple to recruit a full gang of friendlies to come with you into your gangwar. At max respect you can recruit up to 7 so you wont be able to drive them all over.

Your grove street allies are horrible shots that mostly carry pistols (occasionally a tech9 if lucky) but they are giant bullet sponges you can place between you and the rival gang to absorb the shots that would otherwise hit you. Every gang member is like having an additional bar of health. Not only that but when they do return fire they will cause the enemy gang members to flinch and miss their shots.

If you are not having trouble staying alive these above tips are totally optional. I still recommend the body armor
Main guide: Positioning and Firing/Reloading
Once you roll into enemy turf with your body armor and other grove street allies initiate the gangwar by killing your 3 enemy gangbangers and make sure to clean up others if there are more. They will attack you and you do not want to be fighting them while the first wave spawns in.

If you are having trouble initiating the gangwar because you can not find roaming ballas or vagos then the simplest way to force a war is get the chainsaw in South LS near the train tracks. Walk up to enemy cars with the chainsaw out and hit their driverside door. They will immediately get out and get killed by your chainsaw. Do this for 3 cars and you are set.

Once the war is initiated the first trick is positioning. I always make sure to run towards a corner of the flashing territory I am taking over. This ensures I do not get surrounded upon wave spawn. The wave has a minimum distance it must spawn from you so they will never spawn in the corner with you but always farther away. Once the enemy are coming at you from one direction they tend to get into a single file line and this makes it easy to waste them all without constantly re aiming your weapon. This is because they need to get very close to you to open fire. The further you are from them the longer you have to get endless headshots before they even open fire(Be sure to crouch for accuracy and rolls)

*When you run out of ammo do not sit and wait to reload just switch to another weapon. Switching weapons will reload your weapon without you having to sit their and eat bullets. I switch between my SMG and AK47(You can loot these easy without having it unlocked at ammunation).

The other key part of positioning is making sure you are near cover. You want to be able to quickly turn and get out of their line of sight if you get overwhelmed. Standing on a street corner is ideal because by getting them to chase you down a different street you will have time to stop turn and let them chase you in a single file line and waste them as they run at you. It is also important to try and be near the armor or health pickups just in case. Sometimes having a bike nearby helps for the larger territory incase you need to reposition or bounce out and try again without dieing.

Other than switching weapons as opposed to reloading, go for headshots and always target the gangmembers that are closest to you. They are the ones that will start damaging you first.

The NPC pathing is pretty weak so positioning really is the key here. Sometimes on hilly territory half will actually run away from you making the fight even easier.

If you do the above you can emerge from the gangwar totally undamaged and with a lot of AK and SMG ammo. Always pick up the bulletproof vest before you go to they are free.
