The Warg Matron - New Enemy for Warrens

A clever and ferocious duo, this porcine huntress and her savage canine stalk the warrens with a band of gluttonous raiders in tow. A powerful fighter and intelligent (by swinefolk standards) leader, the Warg Matron controls the battle from the backline, issuing commands to swine and warg alike while finding any opportunity to skewer vulnerable targets with her spear.


=====Overview=====

Based on Leed from the Manga and Anime Dungeon Meshi, the Warg Matron is powerful, but rare backline unit exclusive to the Warrens. Essentially the swinefolk equivalent of a Houndmaster, she can attack the whole party with her Warg or single out a backline hero with her spear. She can support her fellow monsters by marking a priority target, increasing the amount of bleed damage they receive, or healing them with bizzare, but potent decoctions. When defeated, the Warg Matron has a high chance of dropping a random trinket, including a rare chance to pilfer one of her medicine kits.

It might seem weird to have her as the first Meshi monster mod, but during planning, she ended up being the right mix of simple to program, interesting to fight, and adaptable the aesthetic of Darkest Dungeon.

She was originally designed to be a mini-boss instead of a tough regular enemy. There ended up being a lot of feature creeping and subsequent decreeping over the course of development, let me know if still I ended up overdoing it.

I was at one point considering making her a hero mod instead, but every design I came up with was too close to the Houndmaster, so I ended up going with this instead. If I ever come up with an improved design, I'd be very willing to make her a playable class.

Early in development, Wargs were their own monster separate from the Matron and her fight was similar to the necromancer boss with all her attacks summoning a new one, but this ended up being too frustrating and the wargs themselves weren't very interesting to fight, just being beefier Rabid Gnashers. I also wasn't a fan of the idea of her force feeding a dog.

I did give Terk specific orders to make her less cute than her canon counterpart to fit in better with the rest of the swinefolk. Still would tho.
