Jujutsu Kaisen's second season begins with an extended flashback into Satoro Goju and Suguru Geto's younger years that deconstructs how their friendship turned into a vile rivalry. This "Hidden Inventory" flashback arc tasks Satoru and Suguru with the recovery of Riko Amanai, a special girl who could become a dangerous human vessel if she falls into the wrong hands.

Satoru attempts to break down this scenario through Digimon lore, which is just extremely on point for his character. Despite being an incredibly powerful jujutsu sorcerer, Gojo tends to be very laid back, the kind of guy who doesn't take life too seriously. It's fitting that he would be a Digimon fan and make reference to it during this period in the past, but it's also highly applicable to their situation at hand.
