Game settings

In the screenshot above, you can see the recommended settings.
________________________________________________________________

  • Braking - You can leave the ABS on or off as you wish.
*Do not leave the brake assist on, as this will prevent drifting.

  • Steering - initially, leave it as default (Normal). But when you start drifting confidently, I recommend setting it to 'Simulation'; you will have better control over the car. (The first few hours of driving with this setting might feel unusual).

  • Traction and Stability control - these assistants should be turned off, they will not allow you to drift.

  • Shifting - only a manual transmission, it will allow you to keep the speed at a reasonable level.

  • Damage and Tire wear - leave it on, this will protect your car from damage and make it easier to drive.
Choosing a car
There are 2 types of tuning for drifting, the first is AWD, the second is RWD. AWD cars are very powerful, they are ideal for long drifts, but a beginner can quickly run off the road.
RWD cars are the base, relatively easy to control, but there is a much higher chance that the car can spin out.
In fact, all cars can drift in this game, you just need to choose the right tuning.
I'll show you some AWD and RWD drift cars that are easy enough for a beginner to drive.
  • RWD:
    1) Formula Drift #98 BMW 325i

    2) Formula Drift #777 Nissan 240SX

  • AWD:
    1) TOYOTA SUPRA RZ (tuning: author - Forzahrizon5961 , title - DRIFT ZONE BEAST)

    2) TOYOTA GT86 (tuning: author - Kenpai TDG , title - GODLIKE DRIFTING)
________________________________________________________________

REMEMBER If you don't have these cars, you can buy them at a car dealership or auction.
You can also choose your favorite car and find a ready-made tuning for it.
________________________________________________________________

In order to find a ready-made tuning you need: ESC -> CREATIVE HUB -> TUNING SETUPS -> *choose a tuning* (as a rule, there is always a tuning called "drift" or something similar).

Basic rules | tips
Below is some basic information that will help you understand what to press and when to press when drifting. Once you understand it, you should try drifting yourself, and with time and experience, you will get better at it, believe me.
  • Accelerate - Everything is clear here; you use it to maintain the optimal speed.
  • Brake - press it when you need to slow down, for example, to avoid running off the road.
  • E-Brake - Your loyal friend, with which you can initiate sideways driving.
________________________________________________________________

Let's break down how to drift. First, you need to reach an optimal speed where your car won't fly off the road. Then, as you approach the turn, you turn the car in the direction of the turn and press the handbrake (usually for 1.5 seconds, but with experience, you'll understand there will be situations where you need to hold the handbrake longer). After that, you start to gradually press the gas and turn in the opposite direction of the turn to keep the car in this position.

There is also another way to start a drift - feint. You need to quickly turn in the opposite direction of the turn and then immediately turn back toward the turn. This will cause your car to partially lose grip on the road, allowing it to continue drifting.
________________________________________________________________

Common reasons for unsuccessful drifting:
  • Car losing traction and spinning out - to prevent this, you need to apply less gas during drifting.
  • Early exit from the drift - you need higher speed and longer use of the handbrake.
  • Car sliding off the road - don't hesitate to apply the brake when needed.
Conclusion
Please leave a comment to let me know if everything was clear to you. Did you succeed in drifting?

I have never heard about this. I always slide the car sideways using the handbrake or by rocking the car. This is interesting information, I need to try it somehow, thank you.

I heard players saying that using clutch kick (hold clutch for about half a second and release) is a good way to quickly throw the rear end of your car to the side. Guess that's advanced tech.

Hello. I think the clutch was added to the game for players who have a game wheel. If you are just starting to master drifting, it is better to leave the usual manual gearbox (without a clutch), because the drift will be the same, but the control will become more difficult for you.

Good luck :fh4skill:

What about clutch kicking? Is it useful or just another option besides the handbrake?

No worries.

Aspectro, You are right. Driving the car in "Simulation" mode significantly improves car handling. Thank you for the advice; I will definitely add this tip to the guide.

Hello, thank you for the recommendation. I will try this setting again and if it is really better I will add it to the guide. I used to play with these settings, but the car handling was too harsh. I didn't like it. I'm glad you liked the guide. Have a great day!:fh4trophy:

I recommend setting option steering to simulation. It is difficult at first but once you get a hang of it, your steering control of the vehicle will be WAY more responsive and WAY more fun when drifting. You can also do 360s easier while driving. Also, you will have moments where it will be impossible to regain control of the vehicle when using steering normal, but with steering simulation, you are more likely to regain control. But anyway, great guide for beginners.
