In your Steam library, navigate to DJ SIMULATOR, Right Click DJ SIMULATOR in the list -> Manage -> Browse Local Files
There will be a file named djsim_song_importer.exe, run this.

Once opened, you will first have to load a file.


Then fill out all the fields including the album art (the tool will pull info from ID3 tags) making sure the BPM is EXACT.

Note: The analyse BPM feature is only an estimate and you should google the BPM of the song if you don't know it.

Use the scroll wheel to zoom into the start of the song in the waveform preview, use LEFT click to click approximately where the start of the song is (some files will have a split second of empty noise before the music starts).

To confirm timing is correct, zoom back out with the scroll wheel and then zoom in to somewhere else in the song where there is a thick red line. It should be obvious if the timing is correct or not.

If the timing is not correct, use the RIGHT mouse button to click where the beat line should be, this offsets the beat grid and the start time.

If the song has an intro of a few bars before the real timing kicks in, use the skip bars value to bake that offset of the timing into the song (This means timing wont effectively start until this point, meaning anything before this is considered negative). Some examples are white noise wooshes or vocal lines. Use the start point if you want to skip these entirely instead.

The speed / quality is the quality of the final waveform. This doesn't affect audio quality.

The game will need to be restarted before new songs are detected (will probably change in the future)


Once in the game, go to Settings -> Custom Music to see if your imported tracks worked, and to upload to Steam Workshop.
