Instructions: [UPDATED 2018]
[UPDATED 2018]

First of all open the game console using \ and enter:

net_graph 3

This will show the current FPS and now you'll be able to see the FPS improvements.

Now, open the console again with \ and enter the following commands, one by one, in this order:

  • developer 1

  • fps_override 1

  • fps_max 131

You can change the number on the "fps_max" command to reach more or less fps.
You have to do this process every time you open CS 1.6.

If this was helpfull to you please rate and follow.

BEWARE; Longjumps servers consider altering the max fps as cheating. (it breaks the engine and hit registration). Going above the defaults values can make you ban or send you an error msg after doing jumps like bhop-lj.
Some public servers also force your settings to cap at fps_max 100 in order to have the best experience with hit registration.

This old game was not designed for high fps but stable 100fps since physics are bound for this value.
