Similar to Ornit, Aplits feast on bugs and pollen, but they also feast upon tree roots and sap. Aplits, however, do not have the ability to change their aroma, so they use their beaks to peck at birds. They nest in trees, as insects pollinate them. Birds often stay away from Aplits, for their ferocious pecks can puncture concrete. Aplits will attack when provoked. They burrow into the ground to fertilize their apple-like shell. They also feast upon roots of trees while in the ground. The more red an Aplit's soft shell is, the more powerful they are. Green and yellow variants of Aplit are more passive. They have a strong rivalry against the Ornit species
