Bloodline
Every adventurer start with a main bloodline. A secondary bloodline can be added and both can be changed at the Mystic Fusion building unlocked from the technology tree at Leviathan level 4. Also, this building is where bloodlines can advance to a higher tier.

Bloodline materials are required to unlock additional effects at level 10, 25, 40, 60, 80, and 100. They are required to advance bloodline to a higher tier. You can turn a common adventurer into a legendary one. If you don't encounter adventurers with higher quality bloodlines, you can grow a common one. While a higher quality bloodline has a strong start, a common adventurer is easily accessible. At the end of the day, it'll take a new adventurer, no matter the quality, a similar amount of time to advance to legendary tier. The need for bloodline materials for levels means there isn't much of a difference. Since advancement of tiers don't reset bloodline level from fused bloodline materials.
Some unique adventurers may have special characteristics that provide attributes though.

Leveling bloodline material
Bloodlines can be improved by adventurers training by themselves or in buildings
  • Weightlifting platform
  • Small Plum Blossom Stake
  • Alchemy Research Station

Depending on the quality of training items, a random bloodline material will be discovered and fused. These training items can be crafted at the Crafting Table. Training items are unlocked through the technology tree at Leviathan level 10 and 13.

Bosses may drop bloodline materials only visible if you check the "Treasure" and not "Item" part of an adventurer's inventory. You can purchase them directly and gift it to another adventurer. However, once fused, it isn't recoverable. Fusing consumes the bloodline material, even if it fails.
