1. I removed the d3d11.dll file from Gothic II/launcher/ folder.
2. In the Steam properties from Gothic 2:
2.1 On the General tab you'll find Launch Options section. Enter WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n,b" %command% here.
2.2 Compatibility: I used Proton 8.0.5 first but this Version does not worked. Is use Proton-GE 9.21 now.
Everything is working with mods!
Thank you for your help @D36!
Can you take a screenshot of your Access Violation error?
I think that Linux may be the root cause. Are you using the Steam Launcher Optimizer by any chance?
I'm also playing Odysee and G2 Gold Remaster Mod without problems.
I also deactivated all not nessesary Mods for LoA but the result is the same.
Yes, this is correct. But what about the admin rights for launcher, and checking the free space on your disk?
I deleted and reinstalled everything. But I'm still stuck in the loading screen.
My Procedure:
1. Set Gothic 2 to "workshop" in the Steam "Beta" settings
2. Steam Workshop -> Legend of Asshun and Union
3. Start Gothic 2 -> The Gothic 2 Launcher will start -> Select Legend of Asshun -> Set Language -> Start
4. Intro Videos are playing
5. After the Intro Videos I'm stuck in the loading screen.
Is this the right procedure?
Try giving the launcher the admin rights. If it wouldn't help - reinstall the game with the folder deletion.
Also, you may ran out of free disk space. Mod requires almost 6 GB of space.
