You're SPECIAL! Book Duplicate GUIDE! [works 2024, downgraded / new version, Pictures&Video(Soon)]

In this guide, I'll give you a 'how to' duplicate your SPECIAL book to gain more stats on early game with no mods or modded games, new or old version of the game, with no machinery whatsoever.
You only need a workshop and a weapon that you can mod early on!

I'm currently using a modded game, tho not that much it's only some QoL and new stuffs but no changes to the vanilla whatsoever
so if you're doing this with no mod it's doable as far as I know!

Step 1 Out from your Vault!
  • Create your character
    stats doesn't matter.


  • Proceed to exit your Vault
Step 2 Go to your house.
  • Go to your house and pick up the SPECIAL book
    pick any stats it doesn't matter for now.
Step 3 Go to the nearest Workshop & Workbench near your home
  • Proceed to Weapon Workbench and rename your subject to a lower-case alphabet
    in this case is y
!!!Side-note [Please read carefully.]
  • When you pick up your SPECIAL book for the first time it is now in your [misc] tab inventory and don't forget to clear out your [misc] tab for the dupe process.

  • Since it's still a normal SPECIAL book, If you drop it then look at it with Workshop menu it doesn't show a [Scrap] button for it.
  • Since a 10mm Pistol is prolly the only weapon you have from the beginning that can be modify early you need to have at least
    • 1 Adhesive [itemID: 1bf72e]
    • 2 Aluminum [itemID: 6907A]
    • 1 Gear [itemID: 6907E]
    • 2 Oil [itemID: 1BF732]
    • 1 Screw [itemID: 69081]

Step 4 Dupe Process.
  1. Now go back to Weapons Workbench and work on your subject
  2. What're you going to do now is you have to press [Scrap] & [Modify] at the same time.
    If you're doing it correct then this is what's gonna happen
  3. Then you proceed to the next step and scrap it.
  4. If you're doing it correct, your weapon will be scrapped and the model will turn into your SPECIAL book.

  5. Now you have to mod it with anything that's possible at the moment.
  6. If all of the above 'to-do' done correctly now when you drop your SPECIAL book and look it with your Workshop menu it shows the [Scrap] Button.

  7. Now for the
    Crème de la crème
    , you need to press [Scrap] and [Store] on your SPECIAL book at the same time!
    the easier way to do this is by holding the [Scrap] button first, then press your [Store] following immediately to lift your finger from the [Scrap] Button.
    When it's done correctly the pop-up will overlay at the same time & you proceed to scrap it then store it to your workshop.

  8. The next step is you just have to pick up the book from your Workshop storage, drop it to the ground and react to it, now the book will work as if it was a new book like before!

Final
All the steps are complete, now if you wanna repeat the process you just need to do
  • Drop your book again from the [misc] tab after picking your new stats, and repeat the workshop [Store] & [Scrap] process, drop the book again and choose your new stats again. repeat.
