Characters To Draft Early
Horse
Strength: 9 Speed: 10 Agility: 8 Technique: 7 Profile: Horse is another safe choice to pick first due to being a strong character that also has great speed and can play anywhere in the outfield. Horse makes for a great leadoff or 2nd batter so that you can utilize the speed and be able to score on a hit from the 3rd or cleanup hitters. Tip: Horse makes contact with the ball to the left of his body, and the kick for swinging/throwing the ball has a little bit of windup.

Panther
Strength: 7 Speed: 8 Agility: 9 Technique: 9 Profile: Panther is one of the best all-around characters in the game. He has a very quick throwing animation, which works well when charging up from the non-center outfield positions and at shortstop. Panther also has great agility and technique to make diving plays and to take the mound as a pitcher if needed. At the plate, Panther slots in well to any of the first 4 slots in the batting order. Tip: Panther has some of the best variant skins in the game, so you should try to unlock some of those as soon as possible.

Tiger
Strength: 9 Speed: 8 Agility: 8 Technique: 8 Profile: Tiger is very similar to Panther, with the only differences being +2 strength, -1 agility, and -1 technique. Tiger has a slightly longer fielding/throwing animation, but can still play most outfield positions and SS/3B well, and has enough technique to pitch. A great character to take at pick 4-5 overall if you have 1st pick, or can pair with Panther if you have 2nd-3rd pick. Tip: You can utilize Tiger's strength in right field, as he can often throw out runners at 1st base when the ball is hit to the outfield.

Wolf
Strength: 7 Speed: 9 Agility: 8 Technique: 8 Profile: Wolf has the same agility and technique stats as Tiger, while having the same strength as Panther and +1 speed. All three of these characters are versatile in where they can play in the field and can bat early in your lineup. What separates Wolf from Panther/Tiger the most is having what might be the quickest throwing animation in the game. Tip: Wolf's quick throwing animation can be utilized best at shortstop and the non-center outfield positions (LF/RF/LCF/RCF). Wolf is also a great outfielder to use for the Scramble Challenge in Training Camp.

Eagle
Strength: 6 Speed: 11 Agility: 9 Technique: 10 Profile: If you're not sure who to pick first, Eagle is a safe choice. In the field, Eagle is a fast center fielder with a great dive, and can also utilize that dive well at 2nd base. At the plate, Eagle has decent strength, and is a great leadoff hitter with amazing agility and speed once you get on base. Eagle's only weakness is having a bit of windup when throwing the ball. Tip: When batting, Eagle hits the ball with better contact when positioned near or even standing over the plate.

Bull
Strength: 10 Speed: 7 Agility: 5 Technique: 6 Profile: When you mess with the Bull, you get the horns. Bull is one of the strongest characters in the game and also has a quick throwing release, which makes him an elite 3rd baseman or right fielder. Bull also has decent technique, so he can play the MI position (middle infield behind 2nd base) and turn double plays with ease. Tip: Bull has enough technique to be used as a relief pitcher or closer. He can utilizes his quick throwing animation to pitch blistering fastballs or put the brakes on with a whiffing change-up.

Bear
Strength: 9 Speed: 7 Agility: 6 Technique: 6 Profile: Bear's greatest attribute is his strength, and very closely fits the profile of Bull (-1 strength, +1 agility). Bear does have a bit of a throwing windup, which limits his potential at 3B, but can still play 1B, catcher, or the corner outfield positions moderately well. He bats with his paw, which visually is helpful but may take some practice. Tip: Bear has variant skins that offer extra strength, agility, or technique, so he is a good character to grind stats with so that you can unlock those variants.

Dragonfly
Strength: 2 Speed: 7 Agility: 10 Technique: 11 Profile: Equipped with a unique and versatile skill set, Dragonfly has the tools to be considered a sleeper pick at #1 overall. Being maxed out in the technique stat allows Dragonfly to have great contact on almost any hit, and has enough speed to be a quality leadoff/early hitter in the lineup. On defense, Dragonfly has high agility/dive range, and can play pitcher or about anywhere in the infield. Tip: Dragonfly doesn't have the strongest arm, so you may want to consider playing him in the middle or right side of the infield and put a stronger throwing character at SS and 3B.

Frog
Strength: 2 Speed: 4 Agility: 11 Technique: 10 Profile: Once considered the best character in the game, some of Frog's weaknesses have been exposed as the meta progressed. Still, Frog's agility combined with his speedy tongue throw make him the best infielder in the game. Put Frog at shortstop and prosper. He also offers some bat pop at the smaller stadiums. Tip: If you're batting Frog, put him in the bottom half of your lineup. Then after his 2nd or 3rd at-bat, you can take Frog out for a pinch runner to remove his slow speed in favor of a faster character.

Fox
Strength: 6 Speed: 8 Agility: 9 Technique: 9 Profile: Fox has identical stats to Panther other than having -1 speed, but has a bit of a throwing windup and also bats right-handed, so is a bit slower getting to first base on a hit. Despite that, Fox is a solid pick to play infield or outfield after the first few characters are off the board. Tip: Fox can really play about anywhere in the field, so you can set other characters in their positions first and have Fox in more of a utility role.
Mid-Tier Characters
Moose
Strength: 10 Speed: 9 Agility: 5 Technique: 5 Profile: The moose is loose. Moose has a rare combination of great strength and speed. He works well as an outfielder both for running down fly balls and throwing the ball back in from deep outfield areas. He does have a bit of a windup when throwing and swinging, and can be prone to bobbles. Tip: You may want to hit up Batting Practice with Moose. He makes contact with the right side of his neck and shoulder, so it may take some time to get used to.

Owl
Strength: 2 Speed: 9 Agility: 9 Technique: 11 Profile: Who? If you missed out on drafting Eagle and Horse, Owl can provide some much needed speed to your team. You can also draft Owl and Eagle for the "double-bird lockout" to get maximum coverage in the outfield. Owl also has a quick throw but not much strength, which makes them an ideal candidate for 2nd base as well. Tip: Owl can be a little difficult to bat with, so it may be more beneficial to keep Owl on your bench and bring him in as a pinch runner later in the game for one of your slower characters.

Goat
Strength: 8 Speed: 7 Agility: 6 Technique: 7 Profile: Goat isn't elite in any category, but has solid stats across the board and is one of the better utility characters in the game. His strength works well as a corner infielder or corner outfielder, and his swing is relatively easy to use. Goat also has enough strength and speed to be used as a pinch hitter or runner. Tip: Goat can be utilized well at a small stadium by either pinch hitting for weaker characters in order to try and hit a homerun, or pinch running for stronger slow characters such as Frog, Crocodile, or Elephant.

Crocodile
Strength: 10 Speed: 2 Agility: 4 Technique: 5 Profile: Crocodile has one job: hitting bombs. Croc is one of the most powerful hitters in the game, and you may want to take him earlier at small stadiums. On defense, he's not the best but can use his strong arm at catcher, 3rd base, or behind 2nd base. Tip: Crocodile is pretty slow, so you may want to pinch run for him after a few at-bats, or try to unlock his 2nd variant skin, which provides +1 speed.

Ant
Strength: 8 Speed: 7 Agility: 4 Technique: 9 Profile: Ant is a very unique character with a profile similar to Dragonfly, the difference being higher strength but lower agility. Being strong and technical helps Ant mash the ball with any type of contact. Ant can also serve as a pinch hitter or runner to make an impact late in the game. Tip: Ant can utilize his strength and technique in the field by playing behind 2nd base, where he can help with rundowns and also turn double plays quickly.

Elephant
Strength: 11 Speed: 3 Agility: 2 Technique: 3 Profile: Similar to Crocodile, Elephant is on your team to hit homeruns and put the ball high in the air to score runners since there's no tagging up required. His swing is a little slow, but if you can focus on hitting the ball on the left side of his body/trunk, he can make good contact. On defense, you will probably need to hide him at catcher due to his lower technique (higher chance of bobbling). Tip: If you draft Elephant, you may need to hold off on drafting multiple slow characters like Crocodile and Snake, and will also want to draft a pinch runner for Elephant to use later in the game.

Raccoon
Strength: 3 Speed: 6 Agility: 9 Technique: 10 Profile: Raccoon's high technique, quick throwing animation, and unique left-handed delivery make him one of the best pitchers in the game. Although not the strongest or fastest character, Raccoon can also be serviceable when batting, or can play in the infield if not pitching because of his high agility rating. Tip: Raccoon's final variant skin is an even better pitcher, so if you enjoy pitching with Raccoon, you may want to try and unlock it as soon as possible.

Deer
Strength: 8 Speed: 9 Agility: 7 Technique: 6 Profile: Deer is a bit of an enigma. The overall stars are pretty high, but Deer struggles at the plate due to a slower swing and does a stabbing forward motion with his head. Regardless, Deer is fairly solid in the infield and also can play outfield due to a high speed and strength rating. If you're not comfortable hitting with Deer, you can confidently just use him as a pinch runner as well. Tip: Deer has a large variety of skins, so you may want to unlock a couple of them as soon as possible.

Cat
Strength: 3 Speed: 7 Agility: 8 Technique: 10 Profile: Cat is the quintessential 2nd baseman with great speed and agility. Although not very strong, Cat makes up for it with a high technique rating and quick swing animation, which helps with getting good contact at the plate. Cat can also serve as a starting/relief pitcher if you don't pick up one of the elite pitchers in the draft. Tip: If you can pull the ball (swing early), hitting with the inside paw of Cat's swing can be very strong.

Snake
Strength: 7 Speed: 1 Agility: 8 Technique: 9 Profile: If you don't draft Raccoon, Snake is another great pitcher you can use. Snake is also very strong and agile, but is very slow. You will need to monitor your defensive setup for the rest of the draft if you pick snake. If not at pitcher, Snake could also play catcher or middle infield behind 2nd base. Tip: Snake has a bit of a windup when pitching, so be sure to throw faster pitches from the stretch (when runners are on base) to combat stealing.
Bench Characters
Crow
Strength: 1 Speed: 8 Agility: 10 Technique: 8 Profile: Crow is a very versatile defensive character with great speed and a large dive range, but does have a bit of a throwing windup. Crow's hitting isn't the strongest, but can serve as a valuable pinch runner late in games.

Rooster
Strength: 4 Speed: 6 Agility: 8 Technique: 9 Profile: Rooster is one of the best pitchers in the game, and can also serve as a pinch runner or right side infielder.

Rabbit
Strength: 1 Speed: 10 Agility: 11 Technique: 6 Profile: Rabbit is all about speed and agility. He has a bit of a throwing windup, so he can be used in left field or 2nd base and can be a good leadoff hitter or pinch runner.

Warthog
Strength: 9 Speed: 5 Agility: 4 Technique: 6 Profile: Warthog can play a corner base or behind 2nd base on defense, and offers some power as a pinch hitter. Warthog's variants can provide some extra agility or technique as well.

Spider
Strength: 3 Speed: 6 Agility: 7 Technique: 10 Profile: Spider can be utilized as a right side infielder and is a serviceable pitcher and pinch runner.

Beetle
Strength: 9 Speed: 4 Agility: 5 Technique: 4 Profile: Beetle is similar to Warthog and offers some strength at the plate and in the field. A good pinch hitting character if you need a sacrifice fly late in the game.

Giraffe
Strength: 10 Speed: 5 Agility: 2 Technique: 3 Profile: Giraffe is a power hitter that offers more speed than most power characters, but is hard to hide in the field other than at catcher due to a high bobble rate.

Mouse
Strength: 1 Speed: 7 Agility: 9 Technique: 6 Profile: Mouse doesn't offer much at the plate, but is a solid infielder, pinch runner, and backup pitcher.

Hippo
Strength: 11 Speed: 2 Agility: 1 Technique: 2 Profile: The cover athlete is one of the strongest characters in the game, but does not move well otherwise on the bases or in the field. Best used lower in the order or as a late-game pinch hitter.

Ostrich
Strength: 5 Speed: 10 Agility: 7 Technique: 4 Profile: Ostrich can play as a pinch runner and play some outfield on defense, but is prone to bobbles and has a longer throwing windup.
