SSL Deku Link

Deku Link hops into SSL! He's a funny little guy with funny little moves. Just a simple way to express my love for this game.

Deku Link has 5 jumps that sequentially get higher, but start out very short. This is a nod to how he jumps on lily pads in Majora's Mask - Including the much higher spin-jump for your last jump.

His crouch is very unique - It has startup while you're entering a Deku Flower, meaning you can't do your down tilt until a certain amount of time. However, your down tilt is a very strong projectile as a result, and decently fast to boot! Additionally, if you jump while burrowed, you will jump much higher, with a very strong hitbox (That can be cancelled into Up Air if you land it to start gliding early). However, you are still vulnerable while burrowed, so keep that in mind.

Notable Moves:

Jab/Nair, Bubble Blow, blows a big bubble. The longer you charge it, the stronger and more precise it is! Wavebounce it for some fun movement (Combined with the slight stall), and if you charge it too long, it pops in your face, which is really strong!

Ftilt, Spin Attack, gains speed based on your prior momentum. In addition, you can move during it by pressing either direction, so you can mix up your speed mid-attack for fun mixups! Finally, if you do it off a ledge, you'll keep your momentum and be able to jump cancel the move, so you can use it to get around quickly if you're precise.

Down Tilt and Down Air throw Deku Nuts, which stun the opponent! This is the same as other SSL "Sleep" effects, but it has slightly different visuals and sounds, and in addition, they don't effect enemies if they're crouching. If you hit someone in the air, they also don't stun, but are powerful kill moves.

Holding the attack button during Up Air causes you to gain height while using it, making it a great recovery tool with no pratfall, especially after a jump or wall jump. This can only be done once before landing, getting hit, or wall jumping through, so be careful.


Other:

Taunt plays the Sonata of Awakening or Song of Healing depending on whether or not you press down while using it. They both have the effects from Majora's Mask!
