How to make better weapons
Hammer the metal to 96 or 97%

Dont try to reach 99% on all parts of the blade 96% 97% is fine too.

Dont overcook your Ores:

When you melt the Ore you can see the quality on the bucket, dont let it stay hot for too long. A good solution is to too melt two Ores and finish your first blade and handles and drop them on the floor. Now cast the rest of the metal in the Cast to save quality.

You can also drop the bucket in the water to rapidly cool down the temperature. You can later just reheat it and continue casting.

Get the Lathe

Get the Lathe from the toolsshop to make pretty handles and reduce the weight of the handle. This can boost up the price and looks way better.

Quenching:

You need to quench your weapon blades in the waterbarrel to increase the quality. Use a temperature between 520-550 degrees

Get a Waterbarrel from the Tools store in the town, it costs 1000 GP but it is worth its money.
Now after you have crafted your weaponblade on the Anvil go to the Waterbarrel. Here hold the Weaponblade 1sec in take it out, then again 1sec in, then put it back and let it cool down. You can see the quality at the bottom screen.

Assemble carefully

When you assemble the sword try to reach around 90% of progress then make a bigger swing to finish it, this helps with the overall endquality.

I'm also still learning this awesome crafting game, will update if I find out more.

For the Quenching it's good 526-527 Celsius degrees, just wait until in goes down to 527 degrees than put it down in a barrel quickly. Profit.

having just tested this, what this means is that if your overall percent of quality is 95% but the last hit of each of those 95% was a max strength hit, your overall score will show better than 95% even though the sum of quality should be at or below 95%
for reference for how i tested this, i got a 95% on the guard, a 97% on the handle, then a 96% on the pommel, and yet when i inspected the weapon it said i had a 99% assembly score which otherwise makes no sense

"When you assemble the sword try to reach around 90% of progress then make a bigger swing to finish it, this helps with the overall endquality."

What do you mean with this? If I hit too hard last hit it goes way above 100% and I lose a lot of quality.

@skarekrow Might be too late on responding. But if still wondering. For the Quenching you have to dunk the weapon piece into the barrel and leave it there until it the progress bar at the bottom gets to the middle.

There is a sweet spot temperature wise on when to dunk. Worth experimenting at lower temperatures than just the MAX from the heating furnace (~750ºC).

AT that max temp it will quickly quench the blade and you'll have to put it in and pull it out fairly quickly and you want to only dunk it once.

At lower temperatures you'll have more time to react. IF you can find the sweet spot you can dunk it and let it sit in the barrel and it will settle near the 99% and you can take your time removing it. If too low a temperature it won't temper enough and you'll have to reheat and try again.

The quenching tip isn't working for me. Maybe I don't understand the mechanic. If I dunk for a second and repeat, I only fill up the green bar a little bit, then I run back and heat treat again, but the quenching resets to zero. As for the assembly mechanic.. It seems I have no choice but accept a red score because the game doesn't let me back out of the mini-game until the final swing. (and giving a "harder swing" at 90 percent put me like red 30 something)

Just learned the Chest next to your Ores stores extra parts, so you can store extra parts you cast.

what are the tier lists for quality? ive been making masterworks but need a rare

at 500-600 you can leave it completely quenched without having to take it out to get a high grade

@RoboticThrone, you keep the potions for good, as far as I can tell. I bought a fire potion like, 5 or 6 in-game days ago, use it everyday, and it doesn't appear to deplete at all.
