Capturing
The Skills

Capture

During Chapter 1, after your first pass through the Fog Labyrinth dungeon you will have access to a new section of Eden. Travelling to the northwest coast of the land here will bring you to a Nameless Shrine. Inside you will find a chest containing the skill 'Capture' for Ramius. This ability can only be used once per battle, and that includes when it fails to capture.

It has a low chance to capture (10% - 20%) when the gal monster has between 11% - 30% HP remaining. It has a 100% chance to capture when their health is 10% or less.

Capture Technique

Late during Chapter 3, once you have obtained the ability to ride the Hot Air Balloon, go to the city of Bigbux in El Quixote and travel west, up some stone stairs onto the mountainous terrain here and you'll see a Hot Air Balloon launch pad. Ride it and it will take you to a spot with a chest containing the skill 'Capture Technique' for Ramius.

Equipping this skill will cause the Capture ability when used to make it easier to capture gal monsters by changing how it works to work like this instead:

It will have a low chance to capture (10% - 20%) when the gal monster has between 21% - 30% HP remaining. It has a 100% chance to capture when their health is 20% or less.

Weakening Them In Battle

Before Chapter 3 it will come down to luck and knowing what attacks to use by which characters via trial and error to not overkill them and get them low enough for that juicy 100% guaranteed capture rate.

Once you're in Chapter 3, the first time you head into the Kalar Forest dungeon, grab the chest in here, which contains the skill 'Mercy Attack' for Gurigura. This ability when used does 0.5x damage of a normal attack but it also cannot kill the target, making it a gal monster hunter's best friend and quite essential for the job.

Furthermore, Kathryn comes with the Mercy Attack skill by default. She'll join the party during the later parts of Chapter 3. Kathryn has the advantage of being able to attack long range (enemies in the back row hiding behind front row enemies), which makes her Mercy Attack even more useful and valuable than Gurigura's.

Tips

Don't forget Capture can only be used once per battle... so if you see two new gal monsters in a single encounter, there's no point in trying to weaken both of them. Kill all but one and weaken the other(s).

Unequip Grunt Exterminator and Covert Movement skills from Gurigura when hunting for any Gal Monsters except for Lucky Can Cans. For Lucky Can Cans, you do want Grunt Exterminator on due to how rare of an encounter she is, but you still want Covert Movement skill off.

For Battle Booklets, keep an enemy apart from the Battle Booklets themselves alive while you weaken and capture them or she will flee the battle as she is a support monster.

For Lucky Can Cans, letting them have a 2nd turn is VERY risky as they will most likely flee the battle at this point. If you cannot capture her with Ramius by the gal monster's 2nd turn, make sure you kill her with powerful attacks before she runs away. If she runs away you basically just let 2 free level ups for everyone in your party slip away.
The Map
It is a large map, like the description says. You will likely need to pop it out in a window that allows you to zoom and pan the image freely to make out some of the details and writing on it.

It's meant to be panned and zoomed while playing.

Due to Steam's 2 MB image file size limit, the quality of the image here isn't as good.
Gal Monsters - No.1 ~ No.12
No.01 - Can Can

Locations:
-Eden (south). West of Abel, around the large forested section, more likely out in the open.
-Eden (central). Anywhere near Stallion out in the open.

Item Equip Stats:
-Max HP +100

Combat Stats:
-250 HP
-Gal M, Humanoid, Weak to Dark

Hunting Tips:
-She will never attack the party and rarely ever flees, making her the easiest one to capture.

---

No.02 - Lucky Can Can

Locations:
-They spawn everywhere you can engage in random encounters at roughly a 0.5% - 1.0% rate. Both on the world map and within every dungeon.

Item Equip Stats:
-EXP Gain +20

Combat Stats:
-HP, Defense and Speed scale with Aster's current level.
-Gal M, Humanoid, Weak to Dark

Hunting Tips:
-Not to be mistaken for Can Cans, these Gal Monsters have star-filled blue-green eyes.
-They are incredibly rare to find.
-They give almost 2 full levels worth of EXP (relative to Aster's current level) when defeated or captured.
-Grunt Exterminator will never auto-win these encounters, you will always have the chance to battle and capture them even if this skill is equipped. Even if it did auto-win (which it won't), the game still draws the enemies you would've encountered and gives the EXP and Gold but does not give any treasure or item that would've dropped.
-As mentioned in the capturing tips section previously in the guide, you do not want to let her have a 2nd turn under any circumstances, otherwise it's a big gamble that she will flee the battle. Try your best to weaken and capture with Ramius before the gal monster's 2nd turn, and if you are unable, kill her quickly to get the massive EXP and free levels for your party. You can try to stun her to skip her 2nd turn but this could overkill her and that adds uncertain complications.
-Trying to collect them for their EXP Gain stats is not recommended. The time you spend getting 1 or 2 of them for each party member, you could've easily trained naturally to max level 99 at several lategame locations.
-I had great luck finding around 2-3 per hour in the Monster Burrow just running back and forth. Listening to music or watching a movie or something on the side while doing this can help the grind. You get decent Gold and EXP between their encounters and Grunt Exterminator works wonders here.
