Intro
Did your save file just up and disappear? Here's how to recover it!

This is for Windows PC's. If anyone knows how to do this on Mac or Linux systems, I will gladly add it to this guide!

NOTE: I do have Steam Cloud saves enabled but I'm not sure if it is related to these files.
Instructions
  1. While in game, click on Settings and on the right hand side, click Open Save Folder

This is what it looks like.

  2. Inside this folder, go to the Backups folder

  3. Each save slot has a number associated with it. For example:

    - Slot 1 = SaveData

    - Slot 2 = SaveData2

    - Slot 3 = SaveData3

    - Slot 4 = SaveData4

    - Slot 5 = SaveData5

  4. There will be .dat files associated with saved games. You can view the Date Modified filter to see if it is the most recent save. If the save file you are looking for is not there, follow step 8, otherwise continue to step 9.

This is what the inside of the Backup folder looks like.

  5. (OPTIONAL) Navigate to the folder of missing save slot. Inside are some save files. You can view the Date Modified to see which is the most recent file

This is what the inside of the SaveData folder looks like.

  6. When you find the correct file, right click > open with > notepad or any other text editor.

  7. Select all the text with ctrl + a and ctrl + c to copy.

  8. Open Lootun, click on the empty save slot you want to import your save file to, then click the Import Save button, paste from clipboard then import.

And that should be it! This is how I recovered a missing save file.
Hopefully it helps someone! ♥
