The lobby and the start of a run - Blue Dungeon
When loading the game for the first time, or when starting a new run, you will spawn inside of the library. This is where the main 3 dungeons of blue, red and green. The halloween dungeon, mountain of madness and asylum can be accessed.

Now for most runs only the blue, red and green books will matter but this place gives a good respite between dungeons, the bank chest, a place to heal and Books for an achievement .

By default, the blue book will be the only one of the three available. Interacting with it will take you to the first dungeon.

Now, this dungeon will have a compass next to the book where you can return to the library. Most dungeons consist of 3 maps. Each map, which can be seen in the top right, has a 4x4 area which is 3 tiles in height. The goal of most dungeons is to descend and go deeper while picking up items such as knifes, guns, artifacts (currency), fountains, baked meat and rotton meat. Rotton meat has a 50/50 chance to heal you for 1HP or take 1HP of damage. Fountains increase your maximum health for the run by 1 and heal you for 2.

Here is an example of an exit which you will see the logo for through walls if you have a compass.

The compass also allows you to see different room types on the mini map before exploring them. One of the great ones is the shop:

This allows you to buy items or if you sprint and jump for a fast speed, Steal :).
Another one of these is the prayer statues which can give you an ability. These abilities cost artifacts to use

Now, at the bottom of the 3rd map, the exit will point to a temple:

This marks the end of the first dungeon, but remember the Blue soul before you interact with the book.

An optional way to boost a run - Halloween Dungeon
Before continuing onto the next main dungeon, lets give a showcase to one of the more loot filled areas. The Halloween dungeon consists of a 1 map, 3 floor dungeon with wizards and the indestructible tentacle things. However, this can give high amounts of keys, artifacts, guns (which give ammo), pumpkins to be smashed open, dynamite and pickaxes.

Dynamite and pickaxes are both very useful tools as they allow you to break the environment and work your way towards the exit which will be useful later. I recommend to run fast and take this quickly as a quick way to get high quality loot early on.
The hardest dungeon - Red Dungeon
The game shows the player this dungeon to be the next as its the 2nd one unlocked. On subsequent runs, you can choose dungeons in any order. This dungeon also consists of 3 maps with the same dimensions as the blue one. The main issue here is the lizard statues and weird tall out of breath guys.

The lizard statues work similar to weeping angels or that one SCP but seem to be a bit buggy. The stone shakes and releases a small effect when triggered and will attack when you are not looking at them. Please note that these teleport and instantly cause 2 damage. The weird tall out of breath guys only take 1 hit to get knocked down but only stay down temporarily.

The final area of this one consists of a corner with locked doors with 2 rows of statues facing you. This is why i would recommend getting a pickaxe or dynamite to mine into the area from above. You can still get past these by either using a teleport shot above the door to get inside, use cloak to walk through and ignore these or sneak behind one row while looking at the others and use the jump ability when having your back to the locked door and walking backwards.

Remember to get the red soul then return to the lobby.
Last of the main dungeons - Green Dungeon
There is not too much to note here that playing through the other 2 wouldn't teach you. The main difference here is the eyes, tripwires and environmental hazards. Same dungeon layout as the other two, the final room with the soul needs a key or dynamite but is not too remarkable otherwise.

One noteable thing is that a shopkeeper here is used for an achievement later.

The rush of souls - Asylum Dungeon
After choosing to resurrect in asylum or interacting with the orange book you will enter the asylum dungeon.

The asylum consists of an ascending dungeon, most similar to the library/house escape. Each map has a 3 minute timer, a new collectable of souls and ways to maximise this. An important note is that fountains and rotten meat are the only forms of healing outside of things such as the dinning kit.

The best way to maximise souls is to try and find a soulstone, and get the soul trap ability. These increase the amount of souls per pickup and turn enemies into collectable souls respectively. Souls can be found in the open or trapped within metal blocks. Metal blocks can be opened with dynamite or a pickaxe. Trapped souls in blocks on the floor have some of the effects coming out of the top.

Note that the three minute timer is a warning that will spawn a spirit that will chase you. The timer resets to three minutes at the start of each new map. This spirit spawns from a pink aura on the second floor and will chase you until you leave in the exit. The spirit will one hit kill you if it comes into contact but please note that the hitbox is smaller than the particles. Please note that the exit on this looks different.

After the end of the third floor, you deposit the souls you have collected and the asylum run ends. For the achievement I moved quickly and got as much as fast i can then took it slower once the spirit starts chasing me.

We need to go deeper - Mountain of madness
The mountain of madness is probably the hardest dungeon based on endurance. This is the book with snow around it and takes you to the enterance of the mountain.

The soap stone gives an achievement later on but has no direct use.

The mountain consists of ten maps each with a 4x4 area with three in height. The only form of healing is campfires and using a dining kit. I would recommend preparing for this by using the Halloween and blue dungeon for supplies and a higher maximum HP. I would recommend trying to get speed boots or spike boots as icicles fall from the ceiling and cause damage. The jump ability also helps later on.

Please note that there are 4 main themes for this dungeon. This is on map 1-3, map 4-6, map 7-9 and map 10.

Map 10 consists of an open middle area with a body with plane keys. Note that in the opposite corner from the entrance there is a book to exit but needs to broken open with dynamite or a pickaxe. This does not complete the mountain but can be used in the library to heal before going back to floor 10. After taking the keys, you have to go back up in reverse while a spirit similar to the asylum chases you. Note that I cannot tell if this one does damage as it never did anything to me. After ascending you can use the plane to complete the mountain of madness.

I would recommend taking the soapstone on the way out and taking it to the shopkeeper of the green dungeon shop to get an achievement.
Unfinished achievement specifics
The main achievements I will cover new game+, under ten minutes, no damage, the complete ritual of binding and filling out the loot chest.

Most of these can be done by using the Halloween dungeon to get supplies quickly. Go to blue for the compass, back to library then to the Halloween dungeon for two pickaxes.

New game plus makes enemies do double damage and give them faster attack animations. Its not too hard to learn the tentacle monster or pumpkin wizards so this is not too difficult. The hardest part is the escape at the end as multiple enemies use projectiles but abilities like jump, cloak or teleport can help here.

Sprint jumping and using pickaxes can help speed up runs and I can generally get between seven and nine minutes using this strategy.

No damage uses a similar strategy to under ten minutes but try and crouch walk everywhere to avoid enemies. Cloak becomes more useful here as enemies still follow sounds while cloaked.

The complete ritual of binding needs a few things in set up. In the main three dungeons, another room with the same mini-map icon as the book to enter and exit the level can be seen. This needs you to go under then above to get inside or use an item such as dynamite or a pickaxe. This books has a small room with an equipable item on the other side. Blue has a compass slot, red has a footwear slot and green has a backpack slot. I would recommend picking up the compass in the blue book, getting the red and green item. Next I would recommend completing blue without picking up the compass slot item. The escape sequence is not a one way door so go into it, and light the candle on each map for a total of three candles. The candles are shown on the mini-map and similar to the books from earlier cannot be directly entered. This time there is an entrance above to drop down into. After lighting all three, finding the ending but not activating, return to the library escape entrance and go into the blue book. Here you can get the final item and leave behind your compass and finish the run.

Someone else has done a better guide for maxing out the bank but needs the stars to align to work. ill try and summarise here and give a second method. A sacrifice room can be found with a bowl with blood in it as a mini map icon. If you can get a revival kit you can abuse it here. You can take damage sacrificing and if you do it again quick enough the invincibility frames will let you get more artifacts without more damage. This can be done with no limit to uses within one set of invincibility if you are quick enough. Then you can revive with the revival kit and you will earn more than it cost to revive to 3HP. Repeat until you have reached the limit and deposit all.

A second method here would be doing the Halloween dungeon for ~200 artifacts, deposit all then reset. This is a lot more greedy but a lot more gradual and less luck based.
