Stuck out of bounds somewhere? Try this!
By Gman1255
Looks nice out there but wouldn't it be nice to get back to the play area to actually play the game? Because once you're stuck, that's it! There is no in-game way of escaping (yet), however, you can escape it through editing your save.

THE EASIER FIX
Adding "-dev" to your launch options will give you access to a developer menu that has teleports.

Once in-game press F4 on your keyboard and "Teleport to Doggo" seems to be the closest spot. Be careful messing with any other setting if you plan on playing legitimately! Simply save once you're in a good spot, quit and remove the -dev option, and load back in.
THE FIX
Here's how to get your (Little) Kitty back into the (Big) City:

  1. Navigate to your save directory, located here: %localappdata%low\Double Dagger Studio\Little Kitty, Big City
(If you copy and paste that into file explorer it will bring you straight there)
  2. Open your save file, mine was SaveFile_0.es3.
  3. Find (CTRL+F) "CatData", there will only be one instance.
  4. Five lines down is your Kitty's position stored in XYZ coords, replace your position with the following:

    "position" : { "x" : 158.428818, "y" : -5.60060453, "z" : -149.814 },

This will reset your position to the starting area, this should be a good place for everyone to go back to as to not break the game sequences, or whatever. This will have to do until we get an official means of escaping these tight areas we somehow always find out Kitties in. Have fun!

Omg thank you so much, you're a life saver! I just started getting into gaming so I don't understand at all how to fix things like this. This was easy enough to fallow and worked perfectly. Now I can keep going with my kitty silliness. Thanks again! :steamhappy:

@Zixea if you see this comment your save file stores the location of a lot of different objects. So if you look for something really far out of bounds, or better yet if you know the name of it, you could put all instances of, say, a banana, to spawn using the same coords in the guide above.

A video showcasing exactly what to do might be better for those who aren't as tech literate, but I feel like by the time either I or someone else makes it the game will already have a native unstuck method.

Yes I understand this might be too much for the average user to understand. Unfortunately this is the best thing we can do unless either someone makes a tool for it, or if this gets patched. Would love an unstuck button or a canon teleportation method from just the map view .

i cannot find beause is too hard to find things in my computer, hoping they make an ingame button in settings to unstuck if you accidentally noclipped into a building

this is extremely helpful.. now if only there was a command to teleport the pickupables that have fallen victim to the void as well...
