Welcome to our[discord.gg] simple-ish guide of how to get the best and everything you can from Red Alert 2 & YR. We are sharing resources and step by step instructions on upgrading your game and most of all your experience with this wonderful classic.

Some of the advise given may somewhat also be applied with Red Alert (original)

1. Highly suggested to read all the relevant instructions in advance (entirety of this guide)! Yes before you actually apply the given information.
   
   
2. Install the "Military Software" via steam, GoG, EA, CD version and or Pirated.
   
   
3. Once installed Start RA2 once and adjust the settings(options) to your liking and then shutdown the "Military Software".
   
   
4. Do like wise with the expansion pack Yuri's Revenge (YR).

Already installed and turned on the base game at least once.

1. Now go to https://cncnet.org/red-alert-2 and follow the instructions to install the updated "Military Software" which allows online connection to other commanders and their military ops.
   
   
2. Go to the RA2 folder (game directory)
   
   Ex. If using steam use the options *manage → browse local files* `see ↑ img` Look for the executable called CnCNetYRLauncher.exe
   
   
3. Right click and "Pin to start" &or Send to → Desktop
   
   
4. Launch the CnCNetYRLauncher.exe and go through all the settings and adjust as needed. Be advised best to only press/click on the `SAVE` button once you have adjusting all the settings to your liking!
   
   
5. If you want windowed border-less to work be sure to switch the render-er to *TS-DDraw*. `see img`
   
   You will get a 16bit error otherwisep.s. this may cause issues for streamers
   
   
6. Select save, if done correctly your client should restart. Go ahead and shut it down for now.
   
   
7. Wanting to add/launch from steam? `see img`
   Top left of steam above the Library button we see in small letters *Games* → *add non steam game* → *CnCNetYRLauncher* → *add selected program*. Now you can show your friends on steam that you are playing Red Alert 2.
   
   
8. Start the launcher and Play to hearts content. We would love to game with ya so feel free to join the [JungG]™ discord server[discord.gg]

- If you NOT have cncnet.org installed then simply go to any online source such as:

• Maps from moddb
  
• maps from cnclabs [www.cnclabs.com]
• maps from gamemaps[www.gamemaps.com]
  and place them inside your game directory.

• If you already have installed the cncnet.org update, or plan to... Do similar as above for hte sources.
  
• But this time there will be a nice tidy folder called maps that is inside the game directory. Simply, get the maps of you choice and place them inside the maps folder.
