Introduction

Lunistice is a 3D platformer about traveling through the dreams of the main character, Hana, to regain her memories. There are several dreams to explore, with collectibles littered throughout. This mini-guide aims to prepare you for the adventure ahead.
Controls
This small section covers the basic controls of the game and assumes you are using the default keyboard and mouse layout. If you need a safe place to get familiar with the controls, then choose Play Tutorial from the main menu. This is also useful when playing with a controller.

WASD moves the character in the direction you want to go.

The mouse controls the camera. You can use it in combination with WASD for precise directional movement.

Space allows you to jump and can be pressed a second time for a double jump while in the air. Alternatively, you can use the right mouse click.

Holding shift will allow you to walk. This is useful when you need to move slowly between small platforms or on thin objects.

The F key performs an attack, or alternatively, you can use the left mouse click.

Pressing Q will reset the camera.
Characters
Lunistice features a few different characters that each have their own play style. Hana is the recommended character for new players. The character you are playing as is displayed in the top left, with each character's life energy represented by a green gem. Act objectives are displayed here as well. Each character has an exclusive final stage.

Hana
Hana is the most well-rounded of the characters. She can double jump and attack by performing a tail swipe. She can also perform a triple jump, which is useful for reaching high places and clearing large gaps. To perform a triple jump, press the jump key, followed by the jump and attack keys together. Notes: Has 3 life energy and collects cranes.

Toukie
Toukie can't jump much but can flap their wings three times. They attack with a sword-like swing. They can't jump as high as Hana, but they can cover more distance. Notes: Has 2 life energy and collects baubles.

Toree
Toree moves fast but can't attack. They are best used for getting a quick act time in each stage.
Notes: Has only 1 life energy and collects stars.
Collectables
Here are various collectibles you will come across on your adventure. Some are harder to find than others.

Letters
There are 4 in each act, and they are usually hidden off the main path. They only appear when playing as Hana. Collecting all four plays a little chime.

Cranes, Baubles, and Stars
Each act has a varying amount of these to collect, and they come in a variety of colors. Finding them all will reward you with an S rank for this objective at the end of the stage.

Cranes are found while playing the game as Hana.

Baubles are found while playing the game as Toukie.

Stars are found while playing the game as Toree.

Keys
Usually found near the end of an act. The mini-walk-through below will help you find your first key!

Files
If the requirements are met, these can be found in the second act of a stage.

Box buddy
While not a collectible, keep your eyes open for a box buddy in each act during Hana's stages. If you've found one, give it a spin attack before proceeding.

Walkthrough of Stage 1 Act 1
This section will walk you through the first act of stage 1 and guide you to each of the 4 collectible letters that are scattered around when playing as Hana.

We begin the stage in front of a large tower and need to climb our way up. The first thing we encounter is a checkpoint. Walking through a checkpoint will activate it, and when you fall off a stage or lose all life energy, you will be returned to the last checkpoint you activated. When you restart at a checkpoint, any previously defeated enemies will re-appear.

Ahead of the checkpoint are cranes. These are collectibles scattered around most stages of the game. Try to collect them all!

Here we also encounter our first enemy, the Sune slime. These little guys become spikey and dangerous when you get close, so watch out. Press the left mouse key to attack and defeat them.

Continue along the main path, defeating the Sune slimes on the way, until you get to our first platforming section. Use the space key to clear these small gaps with ease.

Follow the slope downward, and you will be met with two Beto slimes. These enemies roll back and forth on a set path. You can wait for them to turn around and finish them with a tail swipe or attack them head-on with a well-timed attack. Continue ahead, activating the checkpoint on the way, and climbing up to the uneven floating path.

Once you step off the uneven path, you will come across a fork in the road and a new enemy, the Kara slime. This pyramid-shaped enemy will chase you endlessly once it notices you. Take it out before it gets too close. Let's now take the detour to the left and climb up to the floating letter at the top. This is the letter H, and we have three more to find in this stage before reaching the goal. Carefully jump back down to the main path where the Kara slime was and continue along through the next checkpoint.

From here, we have another fork in our path. Take a right and jump across the broken bridge. There is a Yama slime in our way. This enemy hovers in place and can be defeated with a mid-air attack while crossing the gap. Grab the letter A here and proceed across the series of disconnected bridges back to the main path.

Activate the checkpoint and defeat the Kara slimes here. Take the left path through the bamboo and make your way up to the next letter. Grab the N from here and take the large, sloped path downward.

After defeating the Kara slime, jump down through the hole in the slope and land in a flower patch. This is the final letter for this act, and we should have all four by now, which will play a small chime and spell:

Make your way forward, collecting any cranes along the way. There will be a series of small red bridges and a couple flying Yama slimes to defeat. Activate the checkpoint and proceed to the final stretch of the level, defeating the spikey Sune slimes dotted along the way towards the goal.

Once you've arrived at the end of the stage, you can either step into the goal to finish the act or...

If you've followed along and have all four letters, you should notice an odd path near the back of the goal. Following this path leads you to the first key. You will bring this key into the second act, and it's up to you to find out what it unlocks.

Ranks
When you step into a goal, you will be shown the results screen and given a rank for how well you did during the act. There are two objectives in each act, followed by the amount of time it took you to reach the goal.

Collecting all cranes will award you an S rank for the first objective.

Reaching the goal of an act without using any resets will award you an S rank for the second objective.

The rank of the first and second objectives are added together to equal your rank for the act.

You don't have to complete both objectives at the same time, as the stage will record your best result and only replace your rank or time if you improve upon it.

The time taken on the act isn't important, but it can be fun to compete with friends or set a new personal record!
In closing
If you followed along with the walk-through, then you should have your first key and be prepared for the rest of the adventure that lies ahead. There are many dreams to travel through, and I hope this guide has proven useful. Thank you for reading, and good luck!
