When you first load into the game, you will be greeted with a playful scenery, and a few options. some of which being options, quit, and most importantly play. wen you press play, you will be able to create your own little shelter. You can name your shelter, and choose to start with a cat, or a dog. (and horse if you bought the DLC.) Also keep in mind that if you select modifications then you can make it easier to play. (I wouldn't recommend if your new since you don't get achievements.)
