Bicksborg II

I 1 samling av Aidowl

Beskrivning
One of the mightiest warships prowling the depths of Europa, Bicksborg II is the pride of the Coalition-aligned Zomgonian Syndicate. It is the largest sub from the Aidonian Ironworks Company, who were commissioned to build the Syndicate's flagship based on Benzin Corp’s V-1999 Mk 2. While initial plans were nearly identical to those of the venerable V-1999, AIC's engineers spent months reworking the design until Bicksborg II had evolved into a completely different beast from its predecessor. Armoured with twice the steel of a Typhon and wielding more gunpower than an overvolted Kastrull, this lumbering undersea fortress is renowned for having the latest in Coalition naval technology as well as luxurious conditions for its crew. Bicksborg II also carries small but deadly Galdur-C minisubs for remote firepower and dive team support.

Specifications
Class: Attack, Tier 3
Price: 48,000 mk
Recommended crew: 5 - 10
Dimensions: 74m x 19m
Cargo capacity: 8 crates (12 including non-mission crate slots)
Max horizontal speed: 18.4 kph (21.8 kph with aux. engine)
Max descent speed: 11.8 kph
Max reactor output: 6,000 kW
Armament
Bicksborg II
  • 1 heavy hybrid gun (can switch between double-coilgun and railgun modes)
  • 1 flak cannon
  • 1 coilgun
  • 1 turret hardpoint
  • 4 discharge coils (long range, high power consumption)
  • 1 depth charge launcher
Galdur-C
  • 1 chaingun
  • 1 discharge coil

Features
Advanced controls
  • Auto-charge battery mode (adapts charge rate to grid load and reactor output, stopping after 80% charge; the remainder acts as surge absorption). Off by default.
  • Silent running mode (reduces engine output and switches to battery power). Off by default.
  • Auto-reactor controller (Lammert HTS v2.1 PF) for when the engineer is lazy. Includes 'turbo' mode (responsive but fuel hungry) and overvolting. Off by default.
  • Ballast draining overrides (drains and cuts power to ballasts, for safe Ballast Flora removal or emergency ascent independent of nav steering).
  • Docking controls (individual toggles for each docking port, and ability to select which dock is controlled by nav terminal).
  • Sonar shifting (re-centres sonar to the bow for increased forwards view range).
  • Switches for engines, guns, searchlights, oxygen generation, and fabrication.
  • Periscopes for drone piloting and camera surveillance.

Crew facilities
  • Large medbay with hospital bed, ample storage, and facilities for medical fabrication and genetic research.
  • Fabrication room with linked deconstructor, fabricator and storage, as well as a dedicated item finder.
  • Growroom for green-thumbed submariners.
  • Mess hall, crew quarters, and cabins for submariners' comfort. Notable is the luxurious Captain's cabin, sometimes used by VIPs.
  • Secure armoury, restricted to Captain and Security only.
  • 'Experimental containment cell' for prisoners, unruly passengers, or assistants.
  • Artefact room for safe transport of anomalous relics.

Double hull
Two hulls separated by water-filled void enclose the entire submarine save for the airlocks. Because the flooded void space is not part of the habitable pressure hull, breaches in the outer layer will not lead to any loss in bouyancy. For maintenance, the void may be accessed through small side-doors at each of the airlocks. (Beware: only enter the void while the sub is stationary, or you will get swept and pinned into a wall).

Auxiliary engine
A keel-mounted auxiliary engine can be used to raise the top speed to 21.8 kph when running alongside the main engines. It is recommended to save this engine for emergency use only as it is inefficient and power hungry.

Galdur-C minisub
A modified Galdur Scout Pod, Galdur-C is a hybrid drone/shuttle driven by periscope and armed with a chaingun and short-range discharge coil. Openable upper and lower docking hatches mean the drone doesn't block access through the airlock to which it is docked, and it can be used as a flexible turret stationed at any one of Bicksborg II's three ports. It can be controlled remotely from Bicksborg II's command room, or from within Galdur-C itself (wear a diving suit in the drone, as it has no O2 generator).
  • To dock/undock, aim the periscope at one of Galdur-C's docking hatches and double-click. Or use the docking buttons on the wall nearby.
  • When undocked, clicking once and holding will move the drone in the direction of your cursor.
  • When undocked, double-clicking and holding will fire the chaingun.

If you use the Performance Fix mod, update these settings to ensure that it doesn’t break the drone or any other systems.

So i tested this sub with my dudes.

The submarine is nice to look at, beautiful, but at the same time, the appearance does not stand out from the authenticity of the game.

The reactor's power seems to be insufficient and without a fully upgraded reactor I had to keep only one engine running. However, with a fully upgraded reactor, I could turn on all the engines.

The double walls are a feature of the submarine, but in my opinion, they make the submarine too powerful and annoying (large monsters are not a threat, and small monsters get stuck in the hull), although my crew like it, but iam not.

The drone is very useful, it's nice to be able to help the external team while being on the ship as a captain with a bottle of rum in my hand and a cigar in my pocket.

Overall, I liked the submarine  , but I wouldn't use it because of the imbalanced external walls and the issues with the default reactor (If you want, you can fix it yourself in the submarine editor)

@Canadyne Galdur-B was the old prototype drone that used to be kept at Dock C and could only attach to the upper ports of the sub. It was made obsolete by Galdur-C, which is more compact and can attach to the top and bottom of the sub. I just left Galdur-B in the files for fun :)

What is the purpose of the Galdur-B Drone? It is in the files and I can see it in the sub editor but it does not seem to have been used for the sub itself.
From what I can tell it seems like it was because when docked with the Bicksborg the pump is always running when the lower hatch is open but I think that it would be a great addition if it were implemented.

@Kinkaku yes it is bot friendly

@Hereticus if you bought the ship in your campaign before the last update, it will stay as it was at the time (campaign ships don't get updated automatically). You can check sub editor to see what the latest version looks like.

I see in the update log that theirs a new vending machine in the mess all, but after updating, I see no such vending machine.

I tried reloading, even went to a shipyard to see if the Vending machine was an upgrade.

The cake was a lie.

Oh, yeah, sry.
Also i notice that without changing PerfFix settings drone works in campaign but not in sub editor.
