Some generell info and tips to accomplish the game (and weekly tasks!) with ease
First things first: I love unlocking all the achievements in the games I play. So here is some general information that will hopefully help you get all the achievements with ease.

Mystery Animals:

This guide contains serious spoilers. Especially when it comes to the type and appearance of the Mystery Animals, for example. I have therefore placed the Mystery Animals chapter at the bottom. If you decide to read this section anyway, please note that there are also pictures of the Mystery Animals.

Weekly Task:

1. As in the first game, there is an achievement that requires you to complete all weekly tasks within a season. This is only possible if you complete ALL weekly tasks. Therefore, my first tip is: The weekly tasks have top priority over everything else.
If you fail a weekly task, you will have to replay the entire season. If you are unsure whether you can complete something, it may help to make backups of your game saves.
2. You always have 7 days for the weekly tasks. You don't have to complete the tasks on one map or in one day. The tasks range from taking photographs to collecting various mushrooms. As expected, the tasks are very easy at the beginning and increase in difficulty as the game progresses.
3. As in the first game, time management is structured in the same way. This means that a season lasts exactly 100 days. That is 14.2 weeks with 7 days each. This works out exactly with the weekly tasks, since there are 14 of them.
4. The daily quests are just a nice little touch on the side. There is no achievement for them and they just give you a few bonus points.
5. Select the maps according to the current weekly task if it has not yet been completed.
6. Always have enough flags to mark areas where morels grow (I usually always have about 30 in my inventory).
6.1 These spots where the morels grow can be larger than expected. Sometimes they all grow in one spot and 3 meters away another few. So it makes sense to look around in the immediate area. I would recommend about 3-4, sometimes even 5 meters. If more are found there, then you can expand the search again.
7. Riding a horse while looking for mushrooms is possible, but very difficult and I would advise against it.
8. The shoes let you run faster from one place to another.
9. If you pick up Morels in one spot at the very beginning of the day and return to the spot at the end of the day, there is a fairly high chance that a few more Morels will have grown back.
10. The amount of growing mushrooms is different with each day. That means, even if there are only 2 morels to be found, mark the spot, because the next day there may be 8. And don't worry if there were many the day before and suddenly there are only a few.
Items and their advantages
There are some items that offer a certain advantage when searching for different mushrooms. Some of them are more useful than others, and with some it certainly depends on your own preference as to how useful they are. So here is a small summary of what has helped me.

!Bear in mind that many items have to be equipped manually in the inventory!

Raincoat: The coat prevents the constant consumption of energy when it rains. This makes it very, very important and a must for rainy days. It is one of the items I bought immediately. Unfortunately, it often happens to me that I don't pay attention to the weather before I load the map. Basically, I find it absolutely awful to look for things on a map when it's raining, because the sound of the rain is so loud and the raindrops disturb me. That's why I always try to avoid regions with rain. But if I do end up in the rain, I'm very grateful for the raincoat.

Sunglasses: The developers have made clever use of a setting that does not exist in the game. It is not possible to set how light or dark the game should be. You often feel dazzled and it is difficult to see mushrooms when the sun is shining on them. For these cases, there are sunglasses. Basically, it was already the case in the first part that it was much easier to collect mushrooms when it was night, as the darkness is a great advantage when discovering mushrooms. The brightness of the day is now a little more bearable with the sunglasses. Here is the direct comparison:

Shoes: I saved up for the best shoes straight away. The shoes make the player significantly faster and are a big advantage in the game.

Flags: The flags are extremely useful. They mark a location on the map that the player can choose for themselves when they place a flag there. I place a flag in EVERY place where I find mushrooms. The morels in particular always grow back in the same place where you found them last time. Once you've been on the map a few times, all you have to do is walk from flag to flag and you can collect all the morels without wasting too much time searching.
I therefore recommend ALWAYS having around 30 flags in your inventory. This has absolute top priority over all other items.

Horse/ ATV:
I personally use the horse, but have never tried the ATV, so I can't say much about it. However, the horse is mobile, reasonably maneuverable and can jump. It also doesn't make any loud engine noises, which I could perhaps imagine with the ATV (?).
The big advantage of both is that the player can move quickly across the map without using up any stamina, because even when sprinting with the horse, the player doesn't lose any.
Photographing animals
There is not much to say about this.
Animals can always be photographed once and the player receives points for the animal photographed. Make sure that your crosshairs turn green when you take a photo, as this means that the photo counts.
Mystery animals can also be photographed each time the map is reloaded and earn significantly more points than normal animals.
Some of the rarer animals are shy or move quickly. They usually run away if the player gets too close, but they do not disappear from the map.
Very rare animals such as the gorilla, bear, donkey etc. do not spawn regularly at the start of the game. A few weeks must pass before these animals are more likely to spawn on the corresponding map.
Another thing that is special is the hummingbird. It can be found on Tropical Jungle. However, the player must first buy the feeding device at the store. This can then be set up when you are on the map to attract the hummingbird. You can also take it down again and set it up somewhere else. I placed it right next to the hut at the spawn and waited from a distance. You may need a little patience for this, as it sometimes takes a little longer for the hummingbird to appear. It comes throughout the day.
Some species, such as the Great Horned Owl, spawn at night and are not normally visible during the day.
As things stand at the moment, if you are having trouble increasing your photography level, I would recommend going to Mountain Forest from day 36 and photographing bears and moose there, as these score a lot of points. Wolves, possums, beavers and bighorn sheep can also be photographed there, earning quite a few points.

Weekly Task
I strongly recommend reading the general information on the weekly tasks. These tips can be very helpful, especially for the later (more difficult) weekly tasks.

Weekly Task 1
Task: Find 50 Morels
Days: 1 to 7
Notes: This should be doable on every map.

Weekly Task 2
Task: Find 50 Chicken of the Woods
Days: 8 to 14
Notes: This is also quite feasible. Chicken of the Woods is not as easy to find as morels, but you collect a lot as soon as you find one. I would recommend Meadow Lands for this. This is what they look like:

Weekly Task 3
Task: Photograph a Lady Bug
Days: 15 to 21
Notes: Ladybugs are not that common, but in 7 days you will definitely find a few. They are very striking due to their bright color. I would recommend Birch Forest and Meadow Lands for this. They do not fly around, but crawl on the ground, tree trunks and the like.

Weekly Task 4
Task: Photograph a Woodpecker
Days: 22 to 28
Notes: Woodpeckers are easy to find. They make a very distinctive sound and sit up in the trees. If you hear such a sound, you simply have to look around the surrounding trees. Birch Forest, Meadow Lands and Mountain Forest are perfect for this thanks to their many trees.

Weekly Task 5
Task: Find 200 Morels
Days: 29 to 35
Notes: Our beloved flags are used here for the first time. If you have been diligent and put up a flag in every place where morels grow, then this quest is no problem at all. I managed to collect all 200 morels on the very first day the quest came up by simply following my flags in Mountain Forest.

Weekly Task 6
Task: Find 50 Lion's Mane Mushrooms
Days: 36 to 42
Notes: This could be the first somewhat trickier task. Lions Mane are not exactly common. I would recommend a map with as many trees as possible, as they only grow on trees. I have also noticed with other mushrooms that grow on trees that they are sometimes hidden in the tree and are not visible unless the crosshairs hit the right spot on the tree and change to the small green mushroom symbol, which means that they can be picked here. It is therefore sometimes worth wandering over the seemingly empty tree a few times with the crosshairs and perhaps finding a few more mushrooms after the visible ones have already been picked. Remember to look up the trees too. I usually look at the ground subconsciously. For this task, you should actively look up the trees. I was able to complete this task in two days because I was both times in Mountain Forest. The map is very suitable for this task. I managed to collect around 30 mushrooms per day. The horse comes in very handy as well.

Weekly Task 7
Task: Find 40 Veiled Lady Mushrooms
Days: 43 to 49
Notes: You should definitely go to Tropical Jungle for this. The mushrooms you need grow there. They usually grow in a group of 3-5 mushrooms and are not very common, but not super rare either. However, you will have to find and search a few places and you will probably need a few days to do so.
They are actually quite conspicuous and are even easier to find at night. Also bear in mind that they can sometimes be a little hidden under ferns and bushes.
I collected 14 on the first day. On the second day there were 29 and the job was done.

Weekly Task 8
Task: Photograph 25 Animals
Days: 50 to 56
Note: It doesn't have to be 25 different animal species, but really only 25 individuals.

Weekly Task 9
Task: Find 300 Morels
Days: 57 to 63
Notes: As with task 5, I went to Mountain Forest for this. You can find an extremely large number of morels there and the further you progress in the game, the more morels seem to spawn day after day. It was no problem to complete this task on the first day.

Weekly Task 10
Task: Photograph a Hedgehog
Days: 64 to 70
Note: I would recommend Meadow Lands for this.

Weekly Task 11
Task: Find 40 Sea Mushrooms
Days: 71 to 77
Note: This task can also be completed in one day. I didn't follow any flags, but simply swam the whole ocean. I was only there until midnight and still collected 62 mushrooms in that time. However, you should definitely bring plenty of water (or even more bars) with you. You lose a lot of stamina and that constantly if you want to move a little faster through the ocean and I would also recommend that. The mushrooms are really easy to see at night. Remember not to swim too far up, otherwise it will be more difficult to see the mushrooms.

Weekly Task 12
Task: Photograph an Octopus
Days: 78 to 84

Weekly Task 13
Task: Find 75 Orange Pore Mushrooms
Days: 85 to 91
Note: I would say of all the quests you've had so far, this is probably the hardest. The small orange pore mushrooms are easy to overlook and less common than you might think. On the first day I went to Meadow Lands and with quite a bit of work I managed to scrape together 27 mushrooms.
The next day I went to Tropical Jungle because I somehow had the feeling that the orange pore were more common there and easier to find... Well, the result was 13 mushrooms on Tropical Jungle. So I went back to Meadow Lands on the third day and found the remaining 35 mushrooms quite easily. Probably was the last day just a lot of luck and maybe the second day was just a lot of bad luck.
Basically, I can say that the task is definitely doable if you focus on it.
The advantage of Tropical Jungle is the dark ground, which makes it easier to spot the mushrooms. The disadvantage are the large plants, some of which completely obscure the mushrooms.
The disadvantage of Meadow Lands are the many colorful flowers, which make it really difficult to spot the mushrooms throughout the day.
However, a big, big advantage of Meadow Lands is the night, because if you pull up the gamma setting, the mushrooms are very easy to recognize (Please don't call me a cheater).
The gamma trick probably works better for some and worse for others, depending on your screen.

Weekly Task 14
Task: Find 50 Glow Mushrooms
Days: 92 to 100
Note: This one is simple. These mushrooms only grow on the Lost Caves map, but in large quantities.

Treasure Chest

Lost Caves
Animals you can find here:
Squirrel, Hare, Raccoon, Frog, Crab
Insects: Centipede, Snail, Spider, Scorpion
Fish: Perch

Objects:
Old Coins

Mining Cart (The cart is in the section with the red arrows. It is quite far at the beginning of the arrows. You don't have to follow the arrows, but simply search the sections where the arrows don't point. The cart is located in one of these small outcrops.)

Scorpion Statue (This statue stands outside a cave exit. When you leave the cave, you should keep to the right-hand side. The exit is marked here on the map with the purple flag.)

Large Cross (This cross also stands outside in a piece of forest. It is quite large and hard to miss. It is the first cave exit you find when you walk through the cave from the spawn.)
Golden Morels
Basically, the golden morels, of which there is one on every map, are not just gold. They are also larger than normal morels and make a kind of humming / buzzing noise when you approach them. This sound makes them easier to find, although the sound really only occurs when you are very close to them. Another thing I found out while searching for the golden morel on Farm Land is that the golden morel also glows in the dark.

Birch Forest
in Birch Forest is the golden morel on the top of a small hill. It is surrounded by two concrete blocks.

Meadow Lands
In Meadow Lands, the golden morel stands surrounded by three large boulders in the middle of a meadow. The three large stones are hard to miss and the golden morel is easy to find.

Mountain Forest
The golden morel is very easy to find here. It's not easy to see, but as you can see in the picture, it's right next to the jetty with the canoe.

Farm Land
The golden morel stands right next to one of the red roadblocks. It can be found on the fence on the right.

Tropical Jungle
The golden morel is hidden to the side of the waterfall.

Ocean Island
Surprisingly, the golden morel is underwater!

Lost Caves
The golden morel is not located in a cave, but outside in a small piece of forest. To reach this piece of forest, you have to cross the cave. At some point you will have to swim in the cave for a while and after a while you should notice red arrows in the cave. If you follow these and dive again at the very end (after the arrow points down into the water), you will come out outside the cave in the forest. Keep left here and the golden morel is not far away.
Treasures / Collectables
Birch Forest
"Book": The book is lying on a barrel in the northern cabin. It is not in the first room, but at the back in the adjoining small room.

"Steampunk Goggles": They lie in the middle of the forest on a concrete block.

Meadow Lands
"Antique Dagger": This dagger can be found in a cave. If you keep to the left when spawning on the map and follow the mountains that border the map, you can't miss the cave entrance. The cave has a few smaller chambers, one of which is a deep cliff. The Dagger lies on this cliff.

Mountain Forest
"Moose Antlers": The antlers are in a small cave that you can reach by running up the river. You can't miss it as it is right next to a path.

"Princesss Crown": The crown is very easy to find. It is located on the tiny island that can be found in the lake.

Farm Land
"Vintage Skateboard": The skateboard is very easy to find. It is located in the outermost of the three long tents.

"Toy Plane": The model airplane is hidden in a wooden bucket inside the barn with the pigs.

Tropical Land

"Crystal Skull": The glass skull is placed at the edge of the map, directly in front of the stone boundary of the map. It is located on a steep ledge, but you can also reach it from below by walking up the steep slope.

"Mandolin": The mandolin is located on a ledge that can be climbed from the river.

Ocean Islands
"Gold Bar": The ingot is hidden in a chest at the bottom of a slope. Swim along the cliff deeper and deeper into the water and you will find the chest just where it merges into the ground. It is a little hidden, but not difficult to find.

"Gold Statue": The statue stands on a tree on one of the three islands.

Lost Caves
"Spyglases": The spyglass is somewhat hidden on the cave wall in the cave. You may have to wind your way around the stalactites a bit.
Robot Parts
The robot parts can be found at your own lodge. To do this, you must leave the building via the store. The parts can then be found in the surrounding forest.
There are 5 parts in total.
It is important to note that the door to the outside only opens after one day.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

Part 5:

Once you have found all the parts, you should have this robot in your trophy room:
Mystery Animals
Mystery Animal 1: U (Unicorn) - Birch Forest
To be honest, the encounter was completely unexpected and I was a bit startled when the huge horse suddenly spawned more or less right on top of me. It was on day 5, exactly at 6:30 pm, so right at the time when day turns into night. The horse spawned in the surrounding forest around the stone tower. To be even more precise, the unicorn is spawned exactly where I can be seen on the map. Of course, it is possible that there is a larger area where the unicorn spawns and that I was just lucky at that moment. The weather was sunny/cloudy, if I'm not mistaken. In any case, it wasn't raining.
The unicorn itself is a bit shy, but you can get very close to it and it doesn't disappear. So you have plenty of time to photograph it.
There is also a hint that the unicorn could spawn if the unicorn's horn can be found in the corner of the stone tower. (Thanks to @vomi for that tip)

Mystery Animal 2: G (Ghost) - Meadow Lands
To be honest, this was a bit like the unicorn. I was innocently picking mushrooms when it suddenly flared up right in front of me. The mystery animal from Meadow Lands is the grandma ghost. It is not visible all the time, but only flickers briefly. When you are close to it, it makes groaning noises. It does not disappear once it is there and does not harm the player. However, it seems to move a bit on the map and I tried to draw this circle of movement. When I noticed the ghost, it was about 00.30 am.
It was day 42 and the weather was cloudy. I took a look around the area and paid no further attention to the ghost. When I tried to find it again at around 2 am, I could no longer see or hear it.
I hadn't noticed anything unusual during the day and there was no indication that the ghost would appear during the night.
Apparently the exact time of the spawn is around 8 pm and she spawns at the gravestones and not on the surrounding meadow.
The Hunters Manual also states that this ghost is there almost every night and it stands to reason that you can also see the ghost very early in the game. So you don't have to be on day ~40. (thanks @BrandyRed).

Mystery Animal 3: S (Sasquatch)
When I found Sasquatch, I was riding my horse on the map. I joined the map at 2.30pm and rode around the map once, so I'm not sure if Sasquatch is on the map from the beginning of the day or only spawns at a certain time. I saw him at around 6pm, just before nightfall (so he was already there before nightfall). If you get too close to him, you hear him roar and he attacks the player, causing you to lose stamina. He also runs after the player when he wants to attack, but doesn't despawn. It didn't rain. I don't know exactly what the weather was, though. I was also on day 57, but apparently you can find it much earlier than day 57. An indication of its appearance are the broken trees around the intersection, in whose area it also spawns.

Mystery Animal 4: W S (Walking Scarecrow) - Farm Lands
I have to say, it certainly took me about 15 attempts before the Mystery Animal finally "spawned", as far as you can put it. Finally, on day 35, I saw the Mystery Animal.
Foreshadowing could be the cow that only sometimes/rarely appears in the abandoned part of the map (a collection of 2-3 abandoned barns). It is "painted" green and glows in the dark.
Just the first 2-3 times I spawned on Farm Lands, I could see an UFO in the sky from time to time, which I think is just a small homage to the first part and has no relation to the Mystery Animal.
The Mystery Animal on the map is the scarecrow, which stands in the field right next to the barn with the cow. It is always there, but can only be photographed as a Mystery Animal when it suddenly starts to move and walks towards the player (don't worry, it won't attack). It was raining that day and I didn't see it start to move until late, around 9:00 pm, maybe even around 9:30.
I once (but not when the painted cow was there and not when the Mystery Animal was there either) had very, very threatening music just after night had fallen. My character also suddenly started breathing frantically and loudly, but nothing more happened and I'm not sure what it was related to.
When you are close to the scarecrow, you can hear it grumbling and growling (about 2 meters away or closer).

Mystery Animal 5: D (Dilophosaurus) - Tropical Jungle
Tropical Jungle is probably the map I spent the most time on in order to finally find the Mystery Animal. I was there a lot, especially between day 50 and 70, but never had any luck. Now I've been on the map again by chance and it spawned straight away. As far as I could tell, the Dilophosaurus spawns at nightfall (I'm not entirely sure). It spawns in the area directly behind your own camp right up to the path in front of the camp. He runs after the player when he sees one and there is also an animation where he "hisses". As far as I could notice, however, he does no damage.
I'm on day 83 and the weather is cloudy.

Mystery Animal 6: M (Mermaid) - Ocean Islands
Once again I was rather surprised, because I wasn't actually on Ocean Islands to look for the Mystery Animal, but to do the Weekly, where you have to photograph an octopus. So I'm currently on day 79 and I joined the map at 10am. She was swimming around calmly near the big submarine. I saw her shortly after 1pm. So she can also be spotted during the day. The weather was sunny/cloudy.
She is not afraid of the player, you can get very close to her, but she does not make any noises and does not flee.
However, the radius in which it stays seems to be quite large. As I said, I have seen them near the submarine. A little further east, where it goes down the cliff and deeper into the water. It seems to swim over the whole area of this deep valley (which is quite a large part of the map).
At some point I lost sight of her while writing the guide and found her again at round 7:30pm - she was around the submarine again. She is slightly larger than a sea seal or a dolphin and slightly smaller than a shark.
Sometimes she swims close to the surface of the water (when the water is not so deep, e.g. around the submarine) and sometimes she swims quite close to the bottom of the water (deep valley).
The sign for the appearance of the mermaid is a piece of wood that lies on one of the rocks near the spawn (thanks to @vomi for the information)

Mystery Animals
Mystery Animal 7: W (Wendigo) - Lost Caves
At least I couldn't miss the Wendigo. It only spawns at nightfall. In other words, right on time when you get the "It's nighttime" pop-up. Since I already had an idea where it could spawn, I simply waited at the tent until nightfall after I had finished collecting the Glow Mushrooms for the Weekly. When I then entered the cave entrance (or even just approached the entrance), the Wendigo came sprinting towards me from the cave entrance. It gave me a pretty good scare. Other than that, though, he doesn't do much. He doesn't attack, he just runs around a bit.
I would say that the sign that it could spawn is the bones directly behind the entrance to the cave. They are surrounded by strange green dust.
As it was right at the entrance to the cave, I thought you guys didn't need the map for a more precise position or area.
It was day 93 when I first saw him and the weather was sunny/cloudy.

Thank you for such a detailed, wonderful guide! I'd like to add that after spending a whole week at the birch forest, I've found yellow amanita twice. Seems quite rare, but it's there!

As described in the “photographing animals” section, it could simply be that you haven't played far enough, i.e. not enough days have passed, that the last animals you're looking for simply haven't spawned yet.
Unfortunately, some animals do not always spawn and often they are not reliably in the same place. This makes it difficult to say exactly where you can find animals.
The Muskox is very large and cannot be overlooked. The fact that you can't find it is most likely due to the fact that it simply hasn't spawned yet. I would recommend just letting a few more days pass and then start looking again.

You forgot to mention the turtle statue. Anyone know where that is?
Smol_Irish_Ghost 25 Apr @ 6:06pm
First of all, thank you so much for this guide. No one else seems to be making one. So very helpful. Anyway you can add to it the best places to find animals? For example, I can't find the Muskox. I know it's somewhere on the Meadow map, but I just never can find it. It isn't supposed to be rare, so idk where to look.

I apologise if this is something other people have commented on already, but I couldn't search through the comments in case I saw spoilers.

For mystery animal in the farm:
The alien ship abducts you! Or, tries to. The UFO stopped over the field kind of near the scarecrow, where the glowing cow is, and it sent down a beam of light. When I walked into it my character started to float up into the air. I was dropped (with no stamina depletion from fall damage afaik) before my character could actually be taken inside the ship. A second after I dropped down, it started to pick me up again, and that process repeated until I stepped out of the beam.

Guaranteed ants are in Mountain Forest map, I came across at least two anthills there. One that should be easy to find is nearby the canoe shed.

hey alex,
You should be able to find ants in Birch Forest. Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly where, as it's been so long since I played the game that I can't remember it specifically. What day are you on? There are animals that are “rare” and only start spawning on later days. That means you just have to have played for a few days, then go back to the map and then they start spawning. Unfortunately, I can't say for sure, but I could imagine that ants could belong to this category. Hope that helps in some way and good luck! :)

Thank you for responding so quickly!
I reloaded the guide, and the picture of the map still wouldn't appear...
I then hovered over the area where I thought the image of the map was in the guide, and I was surprised when the image address appeared. I then copied and pasted the image address into the browser, and behold, the map appeared! I would never have known to recover the image without you help and I can't thank you enough!
Now I can find that darn tire!:steamhappy:

It's funny. Maybe you should reload the guide and if that doesn't help, maybe open the guide in your browser. The tractor tire is listed in the same way as all other items, i.e. with a picture and screenshot of the map.
I quickly had someone else check whether the guide was loading correctly and he was able to see all the images without any problems.
Apart from that, thanks for the kind words! :cleanseal:
I'm very happy to be able to help you with the game and especially so that it doesn't take away any of the fun.
If the problem persists, please let me know again and I'll see if I can send you the picture in another way or describe the location to you.
