Kobe Municipal Subway 6000 Series / 神戸市交通局6000形

The 6000 Series (6000形) is an EMU operated by Kobe Municipal Subway on the Seishin-Yamate Line.

The first new train to be introduced to the Seishin-Yamate Line system in over 20 years, the 6000 series was designed to improve and standardize rolling stock with the newest technologies. As service patterns on the line had changed significantly since it's opening, a number of different train types produced over the years were in service. These were 18 1000 series sets, 4 2000 series sets, and 6 3000 series sets, as well as 5 7000 series sets. The latter having been inherited from Hokushin Kyuko Electric company, which formerly operated an extension of the subway line before being absorbed. From 2018-2023, 29 sets of the 6000 series were produced, composing of 6 cars per set. This unified operations on the line with a single type, and all previous stock was withdrawn. The 6000 series' interior was designed with a focus on passenger comfort, bucket seats are used and there are partitions every third seat. Wheelchair spaces are installed in the 2 middle cars, while all other cars have a free space without the emergency button. As with most newer Japanese subway vehicles, the in car displays provides transfer guidance and stop information in four languages.
