Simply download the File then replace it with your Downloaded game, if you try to open the game as it is then it will just open the game on steam.

So extract the .rar file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

Are you sure you replaced the archived version with the one you have downloaded on steam? Also i recommend deleting your save data
